Hi beautiful,
Ah, the current trending minimalism😀. Keep only the things that spark joys. I don't mean "A bar soap for my face, body, hair and my dishes."
Here are 8 minimalism tips in beauty.
1. You only need 3 to 5 skincare items
Basically, you will need a cleanser, a hydrating toner or moisturizer, a sunscreen and a treatment for your skin problems. Nowadays, there are so many skincare products out there with properties in one product. There are moisturizer that hydrates my skin and provide acne treatment for my skin at the same time.
2. Limit your hair products to 2 things and one hair tool
Spending 3 hours daily between hair styling, skincare and makeup are really exhausting to me. Not to mention spending that extra 30minutes choosing what to wear. Some people do co washing or using hair conditioner and then a shampoo once a week. As for my oily scalp and living in humid weather, I just use two types of shampoo. I use only one hair tools which is the hair dryer. It is just tiring to be straightening or curling the hair everyday for me.
3. Two body products
One good body lotion that doesn't dry out your skin for your body since it is just so troublesome to crowd your bathroom with too many products. One can also buy those in packet and just reuse the bottle that is already in your bathroom.
4. Multi task your makeup items
Many buy way more makeup items that their skincare items. It also means you do prioritize covering up the flaw than treating existing skin problems. In real life, having good skin means you only need to just minimal. An eyeshadow palette can serve as blusher, eyebrow pencil, eyeshadows, eyeliner and shading. I use my lip tint as my blusher too. You can use your mascara as waterproof eyeliner. Basically you only need two or three makeup items for a full makeup.
5. 4 pair of quality shoes
None of us have money of Carrie in Sex and the City unless we are some billionaire wife with money to spend on $40,000 Monolo Blahnik. You don’t have to go to extreme of having only one pair of shoes unless you don’t do sports or go out at all. Basically 1 flip flop, 1 working shoe, 1 sport shoe and one fancy special event shoes will do. You need 4 pairs of shoes and anything more is probably troublesome to maintain. Don't buy shoes from shops that is already on shelves for more than one year since those spoil quite fast.
6. 8 pair of outdoor Clothes + 8 pairs of clothes indoor
I usually have 7 pairs of clothes for my working days. The reason is I do need to prepare extra one pair of clothes incase something happened such as accidentally tore my clothes. 8pairs of clothes inside the house will be more than enough if you do your laundry once a week. You could do the same for your underwear too. Basically, it won't take up the space of the whole wardrobe and still wonder why "I have nothing to wear" in the morning. Some people can go down to lesser things but I can't since I am a female and I can't just wear the same two pants for the whole week as how some males do it.
7. Bags/Purse
Purse are the epitome of success for women. Personally I don't care much about branded purse/bags but I know many do. I find it troublesome to carry bags. Then, you can't be carrying everything with your hands. I find having three bags are more than enough if you are into minimalism. One bag for working days, one fancy bags for special occassion and another bag for heavy duty things such as carry all those gym clothes and stuff.
8. Recycle or reuse the bottles
Loccitane accept any brands of beauty products for recycling. With some stamps you will get travel size Loccitane items which is really great. Innisfree accept their brands products and you will get some sort of discount for it. HM also does give discount on clothing items that you recycle with them.
Thank you for reading😁. Minimalism doesn't mean devoid you of happiness in life or force yourselves to be happy with horrible skin just to save up that few dollars but losing the ability to look professional for a certain job position.
