BEAUTY FOOD:SEA CUCUMBER WITH HERBAL SOUP (NON HALAL)

Hi Foodies,

Behold today's menu, something that you will probably see on a friday Horror movie XP. I am just kidding  XP.  I am sharing with you this SEA Cucumber cooked the traditional.way. The look for sea cucumber might just shocked most of you but XP it is one of the beauty food for youthful skin.

It is one of the beauty food recommended to look beautiful and have smooth bouncy skin since sea cucumber contains a lot of collage and it has zero fats in them XP.  Please overlook their hideous looks.

This is one of the recipe used to cook the sea cucumber.  It is actually quite troublesome considering one need to soak and change the water for the sea cucumber and also take few hours to prepare the trotter. It is kind of difficult to cook actually.  Nevertheless, I still need to put this up because I don't know when I will get to eat sea cucumber again considering the price. > <

Ingredients:

1 pig's trotter (you can use chicken instead)
10 red dates
2 shallot
5 mushroom
2 big sea cucumber (cut it in few pieces)
1 packet of bak kut teh
200ml water
1/4 teaspoon black pepper


Steps;
1. Clean the pig trotter and boiled it with water for 15 minutes.  Take it out and wash it again with water. Remove all the fats.  Do not use back the water to boil the pork just now.
2.  Add in clean water, pork , red dates, mushroom, shallot, black pepper into a clean pot.
3. Boiled for 2 hours.  Then add in sea cucumber and cooked for another 30 minutes.
4. Then add in soya sauce, some vegetables.
5. Serve with rice.

You can use chicken to replace the trotter.

So are you still with me or some of you are already fainted looking into amount of  NSFW ?

The steps might look little and easy considering that I did not mention the amount of time to clean the sea cucumber as well as the time one need to clean the trotter properly.  Make sure to really clean the sea cucumber or it will taste really horrible.

My friend doesn't like sea cucumber because it is tasteless and most people feel like you are eating a blob of tasteless slob. However, beauty enthusiast loves it for the protein and collagen without adding extra pounds onto the body. Well, natural collagen inside the body to get the anti ageing effect which is better than sea cucumber cream?

It is in an aluminium tube so no worries about it dropping to the floor. XP  It is also easy and hygienic.

Tea tree is especially good for acne prone skin.  It is already potent on its own and thus no preservative and other ingredients in them.

The gel is invisible and goes on easily on the skin.  I use it as spot treatment.  Ir does feel a little cooling on the spot area and smell of tea tree.

How do I like it?
It helps with reducing the redness of the acne and help to get rid of it without flaking or dryness.
It is gentle to my skin but I find that the effect is not as fast as when I was using the Thursday Plantation tea tree oil.  However, if the tea tree oil is too strong and cause you dryness, then this gel is the better option as it is more gentle on the skin =)

The tube goes a long way so it is cost effective =)

The smell is similar with the argan body butter but it is only strong during the wash. The smell is hardly there once washed off the body.  I do like the brownish transparent jelly texture which doesn't foam at all so it is good for even dry skin type. I do enjoy using the shower gel because it smell sweet and woody XP.  It has lactic acid and cocoa betaine which is to gentle exfoliate the skin without drying it. The shower gel do last quite long as little goes a long way =)

I think this is sure a great 'manly smelling' product if one is considering to get them as a gift =)  .

Loves seafood especially prawn?

Then, today cooking recipe will probably be worthy of your favourite list? I love to eat fried prawns because it is crispy and appetizing. In Asia, we eat them with rice XP. It is also a famous dish to accompany beer drinking session.

Ingredients:

250g prawn
70g rice flour
35g Flour
A pinch of Baking soda
A pinch of salt
130ml water

Vegetable Oil (depending on the size of your pan. make sure it can cover your prawn)
Some celery and tomato for garnish
Chilies sauce (for those that like a spicy kick in the dish)


Steps:

1. Removed the shells, head and remove the innards from the back of the prawn. Leave the tail alone.

2. Prepare the batter. Mix the flour, salt, and together.

3. Dip the prawns into the batter.

4. Heat up the wok with oil. Once the oil is hot, test it with dropping a drop of batter.  If the batter turned out yellow, then the oil is hot enough.

5. Then, fried until the prawn turn golden.

6. Put it on the paper towel to soak up the extra oil.

7. Garnish with vegetables and serve it with chili sauce.




It is quite easy for you to try it at home =). It is an easy Asian dish that is loved by people from every age. I think it is a great dish to serve during parties or invitation for dinner at home.

I couldn't help but to start loving hydrogel sheet masks because those are just so nice and works fast to calm down my skin.  Another thing I like is the snail mucin in them because snail mucin just help the skin to heal itself faster and it is really important to acne prone skin XP.  As much as I hate snail crawling on my face.  ( I wonder how people can possibility let those I let those snail crawl around my face.  How if the snail poke inside the nostril?)

SKINMISO PORE BEAUTY NOSE PACK FROM KOREA

This is not a new thing because I have been trying quite a few nose pack and this is still the best.  While it didn't shrunk the pores into non-existent, it keeps the pores on the nose clean and clear. At least there is no pain or hurt the skin.  Using it is also fairly easy.  Definitely a keeper.

I'M FROM VOLCANIC MASK

I'm from is an organic Korean brand.  I do like their volcanic mask because it is so soft and has ginseng in them XP.  The products is on par with one of the famous brand for clay mask.  This helps to clean the pores without drying. The glass jar just makes it luxurious XP.

UGB Peeling Gel

I have been loving this peeling gel from UGB. It is actually under the same company as Nuganic. It contains ginseng and smell like one too.  It is a gentle peeling that is suitable for those who can't use anything strong such as AHA or BHA but needs exfoliation.  It is definitely a higher end brand with the ginseng in it =) . I got it from a counter in Malaysia.

KLAIRS SUPPLE PREPARATION FACIAL TONER

This is a hydrating toner that has fermented beta glucan that is kind to skin that is using many drying products such as AHA, BHA, tretinoin and retinol.  Acne prone skin needs some light hydration too so I find this help my skin with it and doesn't irritate the skin.  I bought this toner a few times already and they are just as good as when I got this for review purposes.  I just don't fancy that it has perfume smell in it.

C20(OST) PURE VITAMIN 21.5 ADVANCED SERUM

21.5 advanced serum is the newer version of the OST20 but the price is also double.  If only it is the same price as thee OST 20, it will be so great because it is not sticky and the list of ingredients.  It really helps to fade those red acne marks fast and even out the skin tone fast.  Just make sure to store in the fridge to avoid oxidation.  If only it does not oxidize so fast.

PERIPERA PERI TINT IN PINK JUICE

What I really from Korean products are their tints. Peripera produces the exact dupe of the famous Benetint but this is so much cheaper XP. I have been loving it since it gives a hint of colour on my lips without looking thick.  The packaging is also cute and vibrant.  Since then they came out with ink and other lip tint which are better than water lip tint =) .

Cassava root is a staple food in many countries. It was the food eaten during the war to replace rice because it was easy to grow. If you have read or watch in many video, cassava is actually poisonous if you don’t know how to prepare it. Now it is no longer consider ‘cheap’ since not many people grow it.


Nowadays, cassava appears inside bubble teas as pearls.

I love the fried tapioca but well it is not really that healthy. Here is a recipe for a healthy traditional Chinese tapioca cakes.

TRADITIONAL CHINESE CASSAVA CAKES / TRADITIONAL CHINESE TAPIOCA CAKES RECIPE

TRADITIONAL CHINESE CASSAVA CAKES / TRADITIONAL CHINESE TAPIOCA CAKES RECIPE

Ingredients:

300g Tapioca /cassava

fried dried shrimps
cooked shallots
Chillies removed the seed
Pinch of salt
pinch of sugar
pepper
green onions
200ml water (or just enough to make sure it is not too soft)
100g flour


Steps:

1.  Grind the cassava with a grinder.  You can also smash it but it won't taste that good. Pour the extra water away.

2.  Add in all the other ingredients.

3.  Pour it into the pan.

4.  Steam it for about 20minutes.

5.  When it is cold, you can fried it if you like to make it more firm and crispy.



Enjoy them. It is nice to serve for tea =) .  This is a traditional Chinese cakes and only people during the olden days eat it.  I think this has now become extinct.  I don't see this anymore.  Besides, the younger generation doesn't like these kind of cakes anymore.  Ermm... I am not that old if it gives any impression that I sound ancient. XP



Tips: Do not reuse the water that you use to wash the cassava as they are poisonous.

I love the soothing effect of the soothing fluid. It actually calms my skin even it is fragile because of recovering from sudden allergic. It is actually a light moisturiser which is not heavy at all. The soothing fluid is so smooth and smells a lot like milk =) I am addicted to the smell actually. I only need about two pumps for the whole face XP . I think it is great for eczema skin as it is moisturizing, calming and soothing to the skin. With this erratic weather that we currently have here in Malaysia, my skin just turns dry from being combination.  I am really happy that I get to try this wonderful moisturiser.  The Shea butter line from L'occitane was highly rave in the Korean beauty show in January and I get what it is about =) .

I use it with together with the Shea Face Comforting oil for a better results to sooth my face. My redness was definitely reduced after 1 month of usage.

I actually google here and there but couldn't find the full ingredients XP but managed to get it by contacting the company.


So, here is the break down of the ingredients of the cleanser.

Miami L-30 is actually  sodium lauroyl sarcosinate (30%) which explains the foam in the cleanser.  It is an amino acid derivative.   Emal S Paste is Sodium lauryl sulfate, Amphitol 20HD is actually low irritation surfactant.Prioly B750D is a blend of  Lauryl Phosphate/ Polyoxyethylene(1.0) Monoalkyl(C12-15) Ethers Phosphates/ Ethylhexylglycerin/Potassium Hydroxide/Dipropylene Glycol/ Water. Kalcol2473 is just a raw material for cleanser and Kathon CG is preservative

Cleanser doesn't stay on the skin for me than 5 minutes so it is kind of a waste to have some amazing ingredients in them especially with amino acid, morus bombycis mulberry roots extract, honey extract, hyaluronic acid, XERADIN™ which is from the plant Salvia sclarea L supposed to give 24 hours long lasting moisturising effect to then skin.  Unfortunately, since it is a cleanser, the goodness is just less effective.

Alright, I am going to be honest that while I think the ingredients are absolutely amazing, I do think that it is quite pricey for 100ml cleanser. but since it foams up so will need a very small amount of cleanser.  It does removed waterproof makeup unless it is sweat proof.  It is gentle and doesn't irritate my skin.

It claims to be suitable to all skin type including highly sensitive skin since it is Soap-free, alcohol-free and fragrance free.  It is not unscented since there is some smell of rose in it.

I have to be honest that I do not see anti ageing effect on my skin or the feeling of having moist skin if I don't run to apply moisturiser afterwards.  So the '24 hours' moisture is probably not going to live up on dry skin, hot and dry weather.


I think it is a decent cleanser for those that cannot live without foam cleanser, gentle, remove makeup, smell nice, doesn't contain alcohol and don't mind the price.  Please do not think that this cleanser is going to be  "All-You-Need" for your anti ageing regime. XP
