REVIEW ON CERAVE FOAMING FACIAL CLEANSER FOR NORMAL TO OILY SKIN

I saw this in Amazon and got interested since there were many good reviews on how gentle this cleanser for acne prone.  So when I saw HiShop has this offer online, I quickly ordered it. I wrote about my haul Here.  Besides, I was really curious on how this will work.

CeraVe® Foaming Facial Cleanser gently cleanses shiny, oily areas on the forehead, chin and nose while maintaining a healthy moisture balance. It will not strip away vital lipids.

The bottle is light green and white.  The words are printed on the paper which is not waterproof so it might get torn in a long run.

It has a pump kind of lid which you turn to the right to close and to the left to open.

Some might not like it because it has paraben but the amount is sure to be very little.  The cleanser is water based and comes in liquid which does foam a little.  There is almost no scent to it.

The cleanser foam a little which is okay to my skin.  I usually do not use paste or cleansers that foams a lot because it just irritate my skin which in turn makes my skin peel, dry and red.  This cleanser doesn't leave my face dry or oily which is good.  Unlike some cleanser, this doesn't leave a layer of 'something' on your skin.  You can feel that the face has well balanced oil and also moisture.  It is sure good for acne prone skin type.

I find that males would like this because they do not need to apply moisturiser after that.  It does remove light makeup and eye makeup.  As for waterproof and sweatproof so it is better to use a different remover first.

Overall, I think it is an affordable cleanser which is a good non irritating cleanser.

TRAVEL: KLCC PETRONAS TWIN TOWER SKYBRIDGE AND AQUARIA KLCC

I have been meaning to write about this trip to KLCC for sometime but then I kept putting it on hold. Finally I have the time to write about it. Sorry that it has been a year already. hahahaha.

Anyway, if you are stopping in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia then one of the places that tourists will go will be the bridge in KLCC and the Aquaria KLCC. You can reach this place via the Putra LRT train-KLCC station or you can walk from the Pavilion to KLCC. Just ask at the information counter at Pavilion which way to head.

You can buy the ticket at the concourse and has to be at waiting line one hour before your time to enter. If I am not mistaken there is 10am up to 7pm. Each hour, there can only be 40 who can enter to go up the bridge.

 Then they will take you to the 86 floor which is for adult. Children are not allowed to go up to this floor and the reason for the cheaper ticket.

 You can use the ticket to scan and to look at the 3D TV.

There is a toilet on this floor but the cubicle is too small. You can wash your hands here.

Downstairs is a souvenirs shop which has lots of expensive souvenirs. I didn’t get anything XP . The tour is about 45minutes.

 As for Aquaria, it is just fishes and those aquatic animals. There is nothing much for me to see actually. I guess it is a place for families and not a person like me. I am not much excited about it than visitors here.

Food in KLCC is expensive and people usually go for MC Donald’s at the food court area.  You can also buy food from the Cold storage and eat at food court or at the garden.
There are other things that you can do such as shopping, visit the Kinokuniya bookstores and visit the art galleries.

The dark bottle is also to keep the products inside safe from sun ray. Vitamin C is easily destroyed by sunlight so keep it away from direct sunlight and heat.

There differences of the two versions are:
-the new one removed the paraben, ammonium which are harmful to the skin
- the new one removed alcohol which is quite high in the original version
-the old version is sticky and most people doesn't like it
-the old version has glucose which a form of sugar
-old version is cheaper in term of price
-the new one do not have any pore clogging or any irritants


Recommend:
Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum is recommended for :
Brighter skin & whitening.
Skin pigmentation and blemishes.
Dry, unhealthy skin.
Uneven skin tone & discoloration.
Rejuvenation & nourishment.

**not recommend to just use it alone to treat skin that has active acne.


How to use:
1) Use day and night after cleansing and prepping the skin with toner.
2) Put about 1-2 drops of the C20 Vitamin Serum on to the hand and apply to dull and sagging areas.
(Avoid sensitive areas such as the eye, lip, or any scarred area, and use on the face as a whole.)
3) In daylight or outdoors, always apply sunscreen (with at least SPF15).
4) A slight tingle sensation may be felt at first use due to the pure vitamin nature of the product.



Important TIPS: Please keep inside fridge to use it for a longer time and to keep the product potent.  Apply light water based toner or essence before applying the serum for better absorption.  Products get absorbed into the skin faster when the skin is wet.

The liquid is clear with yellowish tinge.  As for the texture, it is watery with a little trace of oil.  That is to be expected since vitamin C has a little tacky texture in their natural form.  I don't think it is sticky at all.  Of course it feels even better if you mix with a light moisturiser.

The C20 pure vitamin C 21.5 smell of light orange =).  Don't worry as the smell disappeared along with the application.

It is said that one can feel a slight tinge on the skin.  I experience that only on the first day and also on area with broken skin.  However, it does not cause more damage but help to fasten the healing speed on that area.  So I will say it will work better if your red acne scars are new.  Also if you want to enjoy those tinge feeling, then you can definitely feel it if you have area to 'heal'.  Most of the time, your skin get accustomed to the ingredients so your tolerance will become higher but it does not mean that it is not working on your skin.  C20 21.5 definitely speed up the skin ability to renew itself that slow down with time.

I can say that my skin heal faster and make it look fabulous than when I am not using it.  It works with my other skincare products as well.

I think Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum has really versatile way of applications.During the day, I use three drops and mix it with my moisturiser on my face.  Then, I apply sunblock.

Sometimes, I will just mix it with my toner.

At night, I followed the same routine except no sunblock.
If I am using sleeping mask, I follow this routine. cleansing, toning, eye cream, pure vitamin 21.5 and then sleeping mask.  The effect will be more obvious when I am using mask. =)

I think it is really a great product for those who can't use retinol as Vitamin C works to build collagen on the skin too.  I will purchase this product again for sure!

C20 (OST) Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum is another amazing Korean serum for brightening and for anti ageing.  The price is very much affordable compare to other products that use Vitamin C as its main ingredient.

**Words of caution, this is not for treating acne but you can use this to treat the red scars left by acne.
** Also do not shake the new bottle or else you will have all the precious vitamin C 'erupt' out of the bottle.
*** Usage INSTRUCTION: cleanser>hydrating toner> vitamin C21.5 serum> moisturiser .  Unless you want to increase the capability which can make your skin red, raw and sensitive from overexfoliation then you can try use it right after cleansing.



You can made your choice between the old version or the new version as generally there is mixture of reviews on the old and new version of the Vitamin C.

If you talk about texture I will prefer the new version as I really dislike stickiness and the fact that the company removes the paraben and other potential ingredients that are irritants to the skin.

However, if you have really dry skin and for budget friendly, then go for the Original version.  It will also works better during winter than in summer.

The soap has smell of faint rose mix with oil.  It was lathered easily and it has abundance of soft foam.  Cleansing my face with it was easy since it removes and cleanses all the makeup easily.

My face feels really clean, tight but not dry.  However, application of moisturiser after that is a must or else my skin will start feeling dry.

 I think this soap will work well during summer, in hot weather, oily and combination skin type.  Remember to apply moisturiser after that.  Personally, I don't think it will work that well as egg mask for dry skin type.

As for cleaning the pores it does work =) .  My pores are smaller after two weeks

It is multifunction soap and it is easy to bring it for travel since the soap can act as face cleanser and body soap =).  Men will love it for sure.

SKINCARE TIPS: ACNE PRONE SKIN CARE

Although it is really hot because I am living in the equator, it is especially scorching hot this few months.  There are many tourist coming to Tioman Island for the beach and for snorkelling because the beaches are really beautiful now.  While the weather is fun to dress in summer clothes but the harmful sunrays are not for your skin.

Here is what you can do to prevent skin troubles and to protect your skin.  If you have been reading my blog for a long time, you will know I had bad pimply skin and sensitivity.  My face was like a living volcano and not mentioned how bad I felt.

That aside, taking the opportunities to thank you dear readers who constantly visit and leave comments here. =)  I don't think I can last this long without support from you and brands who are kind to me.  Some of your kind comments really brings tears to my eyes.

I am sorry for lack of update this month as I wasn't well but I will try to do my best =)   Thank you for liking my long posts too.  I was actually afraid if many will find that I write too much and bore you with too much information. .

So here is my current tips on summer and for acne prone skin.


1. Do not use those harsh bar soap on your face

Those soap are usually harsh on the face and drying so using it can cause the skin to develop sensitivity and throw the skin balance out of the window.  If you really love soap, maybe go for handmade soap which are usually more gentle and tailored made for skin.

2. Eat fruits and vegetables containing antioxidant
This is a no brainer that vegetables and fruits containing vitamin A, E, K, C and B helps to protect the skin and heal the skin.  Of course healthy skin shows those glowy skin.  Besides that do go for those fish oil which are good for skin.  Try to eat less sugar,alcohol and red meat as those are contributor to ageing.  Do add green tea in your daily water intake because in long terms, it will show on your skin.


3.Exfoliate your skin with AHA, BHA or natural ingredients such as vitamin A or C
There are many types of exfoliate products out there.  I will steer away far from harsh exfoliant such as grainy scrubs and nuts' shells.  Clay masks, peeling gel and cleansing tools such as those 3D or 4D brush are better for sensitive skin.

Tearing your skin is not exfoliate, it is torture.
Besides, it is not necessary to go for exfoliant that contains high chemicals as irritated red skin will just spend its time to heal the skin than accept beneficial ingredients.

Exfoliate skin is to clean the skin without making it red.


4.Use sunscreen and other skin protectant
Do use protectant and go for 40-50 SPF and go for light emulsion type of sunscreen or sunblock as those are for daily use.  You will only need those 120 Pa++ Japanese sunscreen when you are going for beach activities.  High spf actually means more chemical and thick kind of texture which not everyone skin can take it. If it is not used up for protecting your skin from the sun, then it will just clog your pores.


5. Oily skin, Combination skin and sensitive skin
People will always think that sensitive skin means dry skin.  Then oily skin must not be sensitive.  Third, combination can only mean oily at T-zone and dry at the other area.  I can tell you that is usually the wrong concept of people trying to impart their views.

Because of believing what these people told me, it had caused a lot of problems for my skin.

My skin is acne prone, sensitive and also combination of oily at nose area and normal at other place.  It is a wrong conception that one with normal skin can't have acne.  Most acne products are targeting oily skin which made it very harsh on sensitive acne prone skin.  I had learnt it the hard way.

So, read through the ingredients and know your skin very well before spending your hard earned money on products.  For me, I always avoid benzoyl peroxide.  It just doesn't work no matter how many times I had tried it.


6.Avoid eating too much supplement

There is no evidence that eating supplement help the skin in long run. So, that is why most sellers are frustrated trying to sell me supplements which I don't eat.  As long I make sure I eat healthy meaning lots of vegetables, fruits and fish there is no point burdening the liver to get rid of those toxic caused supplements.  I was there and I can say eating supplement doesn't help my skin at all.

Another thing about eating those supplement for acne. It will come back once you stop!



There is no fast track towards healing acne because acne is not just a temporary condition.  Don't wait for it to disappear on its own.  So, treat it while it is not serious and don't wait for a one day cure all for acne because this kind of medicine hasn't been created yet.

It is already a well known fact that it is important to wear sunscreen to protect the skin especially when you are outside.  Sunscreens are divided into two types-Chemical filters and Physical Filters.  It is still an on going debate as to which types of filters are more effective.  It also goes down to preference because some don't really like the white cast by physical filters.  So, depending on your preference, choose the one you like.
