Acne just appeared one day but do not magically disappeared. It is just giving confidence problem and sadness. If this sounds like you, you are one of the millions that are plague by the common skin problems that is acne. Then hope is not gone since we live in 21st century and access to information online.
I am also one of the person with bad pizza skin and have been dealing with it for more than 20years. I am not going into accutance or be on pill.
So, I got the Topicil clindamycin phosphate topical solution which is different from the I used and recommended in the past HERE .
Dermatologists usually prescribe clindamycin for inflammatory, cystic acne type and for acne treatment.
Clindamycin works by killing the bacteria that cause acne breakouts to develop from whiteheads and blackheads into inflamed. Also make sure to eat more fishes or take sme fish oil because clindamycin reduce free fatty acid levels on the skin. The research mentioned that approximately 14 % to 2 % following application of topical clindamycin. So your skin will probably have wearker skin barrier.
Packaging: It has 1% clindamycin and alcohol of 39.25%. Topicil topical solution contains propylene glycol, isopropyl alcohol, and purified water. Comes in a glass bottle of 28ml or 30ml.
Shelf life 36 months. Store at or below 25°C. It has a box but I already threw that box away 😅 .
Inside the bottle is the glue screw kind of head inside. You cannot change the head so it isn't really hygienic in my opinion.
Ingredients talk:
The bottle has 1% clindamycin with alcohol of 39.25%. It also contains propylene glycol, isopropyl alcohol, and purified water. It is flammable so becareful.
Make sure to only apply on dry skin.
Texture: Transparent liquid that has strong alcohol scent. After two weeks, there will be some white powdery substance around the side of the head.
Review: It has high alcohol in it so it is actually drying on my skin. I don't really like the packaging of the glass bottle. I tried to make it work but I don't think it does much now for my acne problem now. I think a gel clindamycin in a tube is still better than a glass bottle. It is hard to travel with a glass bottle that is flammable too.
Overall: If you have super oily skin that can withstand strong alcohol content.
