There is so much type of beauty oil out there that we sometimes have no idea which to choose.

Today I am reviewing another beauty oil known as Jojoba oil.


Jojoba oil is from the seeds of the desert shrub Simmondesia Chinensis which grows wild in the south west U.S. and areas throughout the world. Actually, it is more of wax than oil.  There are many uses of jojoba oil besides for cosmetics purposes such as additive and it more shelf stable than other type of oil but less stable than coconut oil and castor oil.

The oil comes in a dark glass bottle to avoid the UV light destroying the minerals and vitamin E inside the bottle.

SUGGESTED USE:
Pure Jojoba Oil is gentle enough for the most sensitive skin types because its molecular content is similar to our hair and skin sebum. Use it to nourish your complexion, cleanse clogged pores, remove make-up, soften skin, and massage your scalp. It quickly penetrates and moisturizes without leaving an oily residue.

INGREDIENTS Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil.

Eco-friendly & cruelty-free.
WARNINGS Caution: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of reach of children. If irritation, redness or discomfort occurs, discontinue use and consult a licensed health care practitioner. Dilute properly before use.

The one I have here is the unrefined jojoba oil which appears as clear golden liquid with a slight nutty odour.  The unrefined one is colorless and odorless.  As for which one is better, it really depends on your type of skin and purposes.

The unrefined version is more suitable for dry and normal skin type as it absorb slower compare to the unrefined version.  You can also use it as massage oil. cuticles , hair and also as your body oil =) .

Heritage Store 100% pure jojoba oil is really nice as it absorb into my skin very fast leaving no residue.  I use about two drop for my face.  If you want a glowy sheen, then use about 4-5 drops of jojoba oil.  It sure helps the penetration of other products into my skin and balanced the amount of oil production on my skin after using it for about 2 weeks.  I do love the slight nutty smell.

You can mix the oil with moisturiser and apply it on the hands to soften the hands.  Some use jojoba oil mix with other oil for aromatherapy purposes. For those with sensitive oil, one can use jojoba oil as has the most similarity with our sebum compare to other type of oil.  It can help to trick our skin into thinking it has produce enough oil and thus a less oily face.  This is good especially for those who are looking for a way to reduce oil on their face.  I don't have any breakout from using jojoba oil on my face =).

The jar is made from glass. It is quite sturdy and heavy.  The vintage design has a nice warm feeling to it.

Aloe Vera is an ingredient known to heal skin and it is used since ancient Egypt. However, do check if you have allergic to aloe vera. I can’t use fresh aloe vera from the plant itself so I prefer the one already processed.


PHB Skin Restore Gel has a nice calming citrus smell to it. The texture of the gel feels more like pudding which is very light with a cooling effect even without refrigerating it. The gel dries down really fast without any stick feeling!

One can use the PHB Skin Restore Gel to calm sunburn or redness on the skin which is especially effective.  Just apply it thick on the face as face mask to reduce the redness on the face. After all it is organic and one jar can last quite a few months.  I think it is something that every house should have for emergency incase of burn or even sunburn.

Etude House Collagen eye patch is different from the gel version.  The patch is quite big to hydrate the skin around the eyes.

Korean products always come in such cute packaging that you feel sad throwing away the package away after using.  This is especially true for Etude House which appeal to girl with all the pretty pink products.  So, here is this Etude House Collagen eye patch review =)

There is a light scent to it but I can't smell it when it is on my eyes area.

It does help to hydrate the area around the eyes.  The patch is comfortable and cooling on the eyes.  It helps with puffiness and hydration. Overall, not bad as it feels cooling and good as a weekly treat or to hydrate the eyes fast.  Fine line is temporary gone because of the hydration.  Not sure if it helps for the wrinkles.

Mahsuri To Contribute 100% Of All Its Two Weeks Sales Proceeds At Giant Hypermarkets Nationwide Towards Desa Lestari Programme

In December 2014, the East Coast region of Malaysia was hit by the worst flood it has seen in decades, destroying homes and livelihoods and crippling entire villages. As of today, its victims are still left picking up the pieces. In line with Mahsuri’s spirit of giving back to the society, Mahsuri’s latest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme will be in collaboration with non-profit organisation, Islamic Relief Malaysia (IRM) to rebuild and uplift communities affected by the recent floods. 

The leading brand in fine sauces and condiments goes all out in this latest Corporate Social Responsibility endeavour as it pledged to donate a full 100% of sales proceeds from every bottle of Mahsuri range of sauces sold at Giant stores nationwide from 26th March to 8th April 2015 to the Programme Desa Lestari organised by Islamic Relief Malaysia (IRM). 

Mahsuri’s sauces taps into the true essence of Malay cooking that holds high priority in purity and wholesomeness in its daily food preparation. Mahsuri’s range of sauces are certified Halal by JAKIM and are free of preservatives. Mahsuri’s four sauces; Sweet Soy Sauce, Hot Sweet Sauce, Chicken Marinade and Oyster Flavoured Sauce fulfil the need of every kitchen to serve up scrumptious and authentic tasting Malay dishes.

When the 2014 floods hit the affected states, Islamic Relief Malaysia (IRM) has been at the forefront in relief efforts, aggressively providing aid to over 40,000 beneficiaries in Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang. In February this year, Islamic Relief Malaysia (IRM) took their relief efforts to another level in the Desa Lestari Programme. Under this project, flood-hit villages are developed in five key components to transform it into a self-sufficient community with social facilities and livelihood opportunities. All proceeds raised by Mahsuri’s corporate social responsibility campaign during this period will be channelled towards development of shelters, sustainable livelihood, education, community empowerment, and Disaster Risk Reduction Management in villages under the Desa Lestari Programme.  

Islamic Relief Malaysia (IRM), established in Malaysia in 2005 provides humanitarian aid in the Asia-Pacific region, it served initially as a fundraising office but is currently playing both roles as a fundraising office (for local & international projects) & field office (for implementing local projects). Guided by Islamic values and teachings of Sincerity (Ikhlas), Social Justice (Adil), Compassion (Rahmah), Custodianship (Amanah) and Excellence (Ihsan), IRM executes community, economic and social development programs in Malaysia where the target groups of beneficiaries include, but not limited to, the poor, orphans, single mothers, senior citizens and the physically challenged. 

“With the generous pledge from Mahsuri, we hope to be able to deliver much more in our efforts to transform the villages under the programme into thriving communities with quality infrastructure, ample job opportunities and a healthy economy through local trade,” said Desa Lestari spokesperson, Tuan Zairulshahfuddin B.
