TIPS: SECRET TO FLAWLESS SKIN?

Do you notice that there are many advertisements promoting flawless skin that sound more like "mission impossible"? Well, no doubt that there are few people who just have flawless skin with very simple routine like using plain water to wash the face but majority of us are not blessed with such skin especially once we hit puberty. I really dislike bursting everyone’s bubbles that some of these advertisements are photoshopped or edited to look flawless.  Even some certain claims by some are actually not true but I can't mention it here because I am sure going to get sued or might not live until tomorrow.


So, here I am sharing some of these secret of flawless skin.


1. Really strict diet
   I guess this is a no brainer.  Well, one can eat everything but there is a need for a balanced diet.  A smooth skin usually consist of a lot of vegetables and fruits.  There is very little processed sugar in food as sugar that is well known for clogging the pores and cause the loss of collagen making a person look old.

Of course eating a ice cream once in a month is not going to hurt your face but eating it everyday will sure do.  Even if you do not get diabetes from it, your complexion is sure going to hurt and you will look older.

Of course don't make it that you will only eat vegetables and fruits which is really crazy because we are not herbivores and therefore we do need protein in our life.  I mean a balanced diet is good for the face in a long run but try not to be extreme.

A healthy complexion is also a sign that one do eat a balanced meal so if you are unsure what is a balanced meal, do check the food pyramid.  Don't just eat vegetables with rice because it won't get you look 10 years younger.

Just eating certain supplement will make you look 10 years younger?  DO you certainly believe that kind of bullshit?  Please do check if the REAL person do look like that all the time and if it is not,  the photo certainly edited.  There is not a single product that can actually make you look 10 years younger if you eat it for only 2weeks!  If there is, why is there is a need for Botox??

It is a supplement and one should also still have good balanced diet to maintain your looks.  Maintaining the looks is not easy and certainly not a one day MAGIC.  If there is, do let me know because I am sure interested in this.




2. Good genes
Well, if you have genes that makes your skin as smooth as it is .  We start with a good skin until puberty creates havoc in our hormones.  Well, if you have good skin that is not affected by the imbalance of hormone, then it is one of the reason your skin is good even even with just water.  As we age, our skin get clogged up but it will won't happen until we hit puberty.

The rest of us commoner with no good genes will have to just find ways to just tone down the skin from break outs and can only dream of flawless skin.  I understand this because I do not have good  flawless skin' genes in me and I always envy my friends who does not need to even use anything at all. Do you believe it when she said she doesn't even remember if she washed her face but have flawless skin?



3. A good dermatologist
Well, a GOOD dermatologist does make a differences in your skin.  It doesn't have to be a real expensive one but the price is not on the consultation but the products and medicine that comes with it.  So, do a lot of research before going to any dermatologist.  Not every dermatologist is the same.  Some are good and some just want your money.

It would be more expensive if you are going for procedure such as laser, fillers and peels. Generally, one would need to visit the dermatologist a few times before you can actually see results and of course nothing is miracle.  Well if all the Korean celebrities owe their beautiful skin to their dermatologist, so you can also save up for it.  Of course, beauty comes with a price.

In Malaysia, laser usually cost around RM15k++ , peels around RM400++ and other procedure will cost you around RM400++ so just be prepared with that amount of money.

4. Good skincare products for your skin type
This is one thing that people like me could do for ourselves considering I am not rich to run to the dermatologist all the time.  Please check out the type of skin one has before thinking I want this this this this this and the endless list goes on for you. Of course everyone want a flawless skin (who don't right?) but the first step of knowing your skin is to know the type of skin you have and your age.  Do not just figure out your skin type just from one opinion.  Please get a professional help and what I mean is see a dermatologist if your are really unsure of your skin type.

What I mean by good skincare products NO, you DO NOT NEED to use 15 products a day.  Depending on your skin type, using a few products is more than enough.  No use of 'drowning' or force feed your skin.  Combine with a balanced diet and lifestyle, your skin will change its type soon.
Not every brands is good for everybody so you will need to do some research first before actually trying it out.  Don't just run and buy the products just because everyone raves about it.  Trust me, I have been there and I do felt 'cheated' so it is better to wait and research on it first. After all, you only have one face and skin.

I got the one Rose Ivory.  It is compatible with my skin tone unless I apply a few layer which is certainly not the right way to apply powder.

  True to the claim, it does keep my face matte throughout the whole day until I wash my face.  It doesn't cake on my face and looks very natural unless you apply a lot (4 to 5 layers of powder) .  The sponge that comes with it makes the application easy and the power is really soft on my face.  I prefer to use the latex of sponge provided as really help the powder to adhere to the face.  I think this is truly a good drug stores product to have.

The jar is actually quiet heavy since it is made of glass.  So if you are bringing it for travelling, I suggest that you transfer it to the smaller glass jar for lighter travelling.

The cream is opaque white and turn transparent after applying on the skin leaving a light sheen on the skin.

I love the smell of the cream. It is light and surely not overpowering.  The smell lasted for few hours after applying so don't worry even if you do not really like the smell.

It is certainly is light and not too heavy on my skin so I use it during the day when I need something extra to help hydrate the skin.  It doesn't leave a greasy feeling so I sure do like it.  It moisturises the skin and doesn't cause breakout so I use this during the day.  No SPF so you could use this at night too.=)

REVIEW ON CARBONATED WATER, SPARKLING WATER (KOREAN TREND IN 2014)

Carbonated water (also known as club soda, soda water, sparkling water, seltzer water or fizzy water)

I wrote Here and Here about some of the Korean trends. It has became really popular to clean the skin with carbonated water and there are so many products using carbonated water or another word for it would be sparkling water.  Even Laneige came up with the sparkling water mask.

Many Korean and Japanese celebrities use this carbonated water in their skincare routines and was said that it helps to clean the pores for a flawless skin.  Of course everyone would want flawless skin right?

Thanks to that I have finally decided to give it a try and so I bought this carbonated drink Spritzer from Giant.  I was curious on the taste and so I decided to drink.  The results?  It taste just like mineral water and with a bubble popping inside the mouth.  My stomach was a little warm and I was wonder if it is just me feeling that.  Do not have to worry as it do not contain any sugar or calories.

1.  Prepare 1:1 ratio of carbonated water and mineral water for the cleansing.

2.  Wash your face first.

3. Then dip your face inside the water with the eyes close for 10 seconds.

4.  Do not rinse.  Just wait for the face to dry and follow with your skincare routine.

5.  Use it once in a week for sensitive and dry skin.

So, the results.  I don't know if it is this brand or me alone.  There is no bubbles forming at my face when I dip my face in it probably the concentration for this brand is not high enough.  It just feel like washing my face with plain water.

I did it 3 times in a week and my face were less oiler.  It is good to help regulate the oil in the pores but other than that I am not sure what it will do.  One would have to do it more than one month to see obvious results such brightening and cleaner face.  As for me, I am too lazy to keep dipping my face in the water so I stop doing it already after 2 weeks.

I prefer to just buy products that contain higher concentration of those carbonated water in it to see much faster effect.  I am not patience enough for this.

MAKEUP: KOREAN NUDE GLOWY MAKEUP&GRADIENT LIPS 2014

Natural makeup is such a huge thing these days and not everyone can go out with smokey eyes on daily basis especially in Malaysia.  So, I think many Malaysian find natural makeup one of their favourite looks.  With the extreme hot and humid weather, I find most of my makeup will melt down even before the end of the day.  Therefore, I do change a little of the normal makeup that the Korean do.

Basically, their usual consist of drawing the eyebrow straight with eyebrow mascara, cc cream, cc cushion, lip tint&peach blusher.  They do not use powder as it will take away the 'glow'.

As for me, this is how I normally do my makeup for a natural look.  Actually no one notices anything on the days I don't even makeup.  So, it is like makeup but no makeup.  Oh, gosh.  What am I talking about?

1.  Just fill in the spares very lightly to balance the eyebrow for a straight eyebrow.  No obvious changes to the eyebrow.Do not need to draw too thick or too dark.  Korean eyebrows look natural.

2.  Mix the bb&cc cream.  Apply the mixture on the face with a rubbery kind of puff.  Pat it on the face.

3.  The apply a little CC cream/CC cushion on the parts that you want to highlight such a cheek bone and forehead.

4.  Apply liptint using the gradient lip style. Use lip concealer after applying the lip tint.

No touch up. Does it look natural? Oh and sorry, I forgot mascara or fake eyelashes.

Sorry look angry here but the gradient lips look more obvious here.

So, here is it =),  I don't apply a lot of bb cream unless you are using those water resistance or waterproof type or else it would all melt few hours later and mix with the oil and cause skin trouble later.  In the room itself is 31 Celsius.
For those working in aircon room-use cc cream or CC cushion since it contain more moisture than BB cream.



You do not have to use all the products I list here as it is just suggestion.

Here is the list of product use:
1. ZA Eyebrow pencil / clear eyebrow mascara /brow shadow. Go for your natural hair colour.
2. LC derma CC cream (get one that is water resistance)
3. Tony Molly BB cream (again get one that is water resistance)
4. light coral blusher or very light pink (MAC blusher- azalea in the afternoon) ( you could use none as well)
5. liptint in orange or pink (I used Elianto lip colour, lipstick mix with lipbalm)
6. Brown eyeliner (optional)

Tips&tricks
1. I mix the bb cream with cc cream for a healthy glow look and for enough coverage.  My ratio is about 2:1     .  If your skin do not have any skin problem to cover or have dry skin, then just use cc cream or cc    cushion.
2. Korean generally use cc cream that is one tone lighter than their natural skin colour for a fairer &brighter looking effect.  If you find that is just too 'white' &unnatural , then mix it with bb cream or foundation. You could skip it if you have flawless skin.
3. I use a rubbery kind of puff to just pat the mixture of cc&BB cream onto my face for even coverage.
4.  Highlight is done in a very subtle way with just using cc cream or cc cushion. (reason for the 'light' colour)
5. No bronzer or shimmery makeup products.
6. You could use clear mascara and only apply the fake eyelashes(cut them into few pieces) at outer corner of the eyes.



Ps: This year makeup focus more on the lips instead of on eyes.  So, go for orange or pink lips with gradient effects =)  .

FOOD REVIEW ON KLUANG RAIL COFFEE

Since 1938, this Kluang rail coffee is very famous.


Ermm, I did not know that the Kluang rail coffee has another outlet. In my mind, it must be some very looking ancient depleted going to fall apart look kind of traditional shop so I do not expect that it is looking like this?


I am way too imaginative. Although it was a working day, this outlet is full with people and we have to wait for about 15minutes before being served. I have no idea what is wrong with me ordering nasi lemak. The waiting hour for my nasi lemak was 45minutes and I was already imagining strangling the waiter and shaking the sense into her! If she is playing the Dinner Dash, I would have left ago with a huge red face and fuming cloud over my head.

It is impossible that the next table with more complicated food has arrived and all my other friends’s food has arrived except for mine!


What is so difficult to make the nasi lemak??????? Does it really 45minutes for it to arrive? That is only after I started asking where my food is and the waiter nonchalant ask to check the receipt! How can my food not arrive when it is already paid????? Luckily a friend deals with it.


That is why I dislike eating outside. For the amount I paid, my food has not arrived. If not for the company I am, I might have left. I guess food does taste better when you are laughing and enjoyed the people you are with.

Let’s go into the food. Here is some of the food but mine is only the rail coffee cendol and the nasi lemak. The rest is ordered by friends so I have no idea how they tasted.

This their famous A must try Bread. Presentation wise, it look a little bit flatten and very traditional.  The bread is a little dry but quite good in the sense that it is fluffy.  The bread is already applied with generous butter.  The kaya texture is just nice and not too thick but there is not much although you might there is a lot since there is some outside the bread.  Kaya is not as fragrant as I thought it will be but it is okay.

This is the tea cendol. The drink is not too sweet and the cendol has pandan fragrant in it. The tea on the other hand is just normal so I was actually blaming myself that I should have tried the coffee instead.

This is the rail nasi lemak that has made imagined bad thoughts. Because of it as well, I managed to control myself and snapped the photos first before I get into eating mode. Normally I will just forget everything when the food is in front of me. The chicken is grilled just nice. The meat is is quite soft but it could be softer I think. The sambal spiciness is just nice but for those who dislikes spiciness, it is better not to order this. It is not hot to the extend that one have to drink few gallons of water. I think the spiciness level is probably just 2 out of 5. Rice is not bad. Anchovies and groundnuts is generous. Overall it is not bad.


I guess I am always the unlucky ones to get bad service each time I am in the restaurants.
