Hi foodie,
One of the must try when you are travelling is food. Where is the fun if you don't try local food right?
I got this famous noodles from 7 Eleven in Taiwan. This TTL Hua Diao Chinese Wine Chicken Noodle take the name from the Chinese drunken chicken dish. This use Hua Diao (花雕) Chinese rice wine.
TTL Hua Diao Chinese Wine Chicken Noodle
TTL is a company that is owned by the government of Taiwan and it is also known as Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation (臺灣菸酒公司 in Chinese). TTL started in 1898 as the local monopoly buy monopoly itself ended in 2002 when Taiwan joined the World Trade Organization. Now, TTL also produces other items such as crackers, dried fruits and many instant noodles.
Packaging- This one comes in paper noodles bowl with chopstick and simple easy to understand picture of the food. It has everything written in Chinese wording though. So just make a guess work of real thing.
Inside: There are four sachets inside the noodles. The paste sachet, the sauce pocuh which contains chicken breast inside, powder sachet and a white packet written with TTL and Chinese wording(the wine), . It is hygienic and easy since you can just pour hot water into the packet and close it with the chopstick. Then a real meal is easily prepared. The powder sachet contains goji berries, onions and powder.
The rice wine packet is the most expensive thing in this chicken noodle so don't throw away. You only pour the rice wine packet after you finish cooking and when you want to serve it.
Review: The noodles is thin type made of wheat flour noodles which is really nice and has the right texture. It is neither too soft or too hard which is great. The broth does smell nice with strong Chinese rice cooking wine. The chicken is a bit dry since they use breast meat but it really tasted just like fresh cooked chicken.
It is not spicy at all and I do think that this TTL Hua Diao Chinese Wine Chicken Noodle is really nice. I think it is sure one of the best instant noodles for those that can't eat spicy food and wanting something different. However, if you are a super picker this is still not bad 😁
