Hi beautiful,
Centella Asiatica is an antioxidant that strengthen the skin and a great ingredient for eczema, psoriasis, stretch marks, weak barrier skin and acne prone skin.
In fact, it has been gaining reputation as In trend ingredient since 2017 for acne prone skin. It is one of my favourite since 2012 for speeding up healing and reducing acne scaring. You can also eat it fresh as salad or made into drink for clear skin. The drink is called Rau Mau in Vietnamese.
Here is a new Korean product, Pureforet Centella Multi Balm for review that I had tried for 6months.
Pureforet Centella Multi Balm
Mainly containing Centella Asiatica Water and Centella Asiatica Extract, this line put a lot of effort into calming your irritated skin down.
If you have super sensitive skin and want to be careful with using skincare products, the Centella line will be the best and affordable treatment you’ll find.
A multi-benefit anti-acne balm that’s especially good as a spot treatment for acne and for soothing irritations on dry skin
free from 26 allergens, 20 harmful chemicals in cosmetics, and synthetic surfactant, no artificial fragrance (only contains aroma oils), cruelty-free, vegan-friendly and not tested on animals
Ingredients: Jojoba Centella Asiatica Infused Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Tocopherol, Beeswax, Hydrogenated Olive Oil Lauryl Esters, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Pogostemon Cablin Oil
Pureforet Centella Multi Balm comes in 70ml and the 15ml. I am not sure if the 15ml is meant to be empty or manufacturing error but it is all good for me. It comes in simple pretty aluminium tub.
The yellowish balm has wax texture and melt into transparent slight oil form with spreading on the skin. It does form a film that is waterproof on skin.
As for the ingredients, the centella asiatica is inside the jojoba oil. Other ingredients are olive, shea butter, vitamin E, patchouli and jojoba oil which are moisturising to the skin. Tea tree oil and willow bark Extract which is BHA are for treating acne. Chamomile and lavender oil are for calming aromatheraphy effect.
It is paraben free, sulfate free, silicone free, alcohol free, Eu allergen free but it is not Fungal Acne Safe though.
So avoid this if you have fungal problem.
Still check the ingredients since there are some people that have contact allergies with lavender, BHA and tea tree oil.
After using Pureforet Centella Multi Balm for about 6months, I think it is more suitable for my body than on my face. It works for the dryness, mild acne on the body. For more stubborn acne such as cyst or underground acne on my face, it doesn't really work for me. Moreover, try not to use it on skin that is very weak (damaged barrier) or after picking your acne like there is no tomorrow as there is a chance that you will feel warm feeling because of the lavender oil in it.
It doesn't work as spot treatment for me since I have stubborn type of acne. It works really well on all the dry itchy patches on my body and speed up the healing fast. For skincare for the face, I think the toner and emulsion from the same line works better.
Overall, Pureforet Centella Multi Balm is a suitable balm use for on the body than on the face. It is really affordable brand as this balm last quite some time.
