A new Korean launch of toner made for acne prone skin and for dealing with fungal acne.

It is Centella Asiatica toner combined with few hyaluronic acid to provide hydration and speed up healing skin. 

Here is a review on Ofbase Centella 101 Toner which I had been using for 3 weeks.

Packaging: It comes with a box written in English and Korean.  The transparent peachy brown plastic bottle has opening enough to pour the liquid into my hands.

Ingredients talk: 

Centella Asiatica Extract, methylpropanediol, niacinamide, glycerin, portulaca oleracea extract, ficus carica (Fig) fruit extract, hydrogenated lecithin, Sodium Hyaluronate, gluconolactone, sodium citrate, adenosine, citric acid, disodium EDTA, water, Ceramide NP, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, sodium acetylated hyaluronate, 1,2- hexanediol, Hydroxyacetophenone, ethylhexylglycerin

Paraben free, sulfate free, alcohol free, Eu allergen free, silicone free and fungal-acne safe (malassezia). 

The rest the ingredients are for hydration, emulsifier, texture, pH adjusting and preservatives. 

Methylpropanediol is a synthetic ingredient that acts as solvent which also enhance the absorption of ingredients, has hydrating properties and as replacement for other glycols (propylene or butylene glycol).

Portulaca oleracea and  Fig fruit extract contains antioxidants that fight free radicals that contribute to aging.

Hydrogenated lecithin contributes to the texture of cosmetic formulations and preventing water loss from the skin.


Gluconolactone is an acid, PHA, poly-hydroxy acids used in skincare formulations to help increase skin cell turnover and improve the appearance of aging skin. It works in a similar way to AHAs and BHAs but is better for sensitive skin types

Hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid is hyaluronic acid that has been broken down into elements small enough to penetrate the skin which is for oily or combination skin.

Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate which has stronger ability to retain moisture and keep skin hydrated for a long time.

1,2-hexanediol is a synthetic preservative and moisture-binding humectant.

Hydroxyacetophenone is a synthetic antioxidant, a phenolic antioxidant able to neutralise several different types of free radicals. It is also for boosting the preservation system in cosmetics.

Texture: It doesn't has any scent to it.  The clear watery liquid aborbs into skin very fast and doesn't leave any residue.

Review: It is a gentle light exfoliating toner that is not harsh and for extra hydration on the skin.  It does contain PHA so it is not suitable for layering many layers.  It does lighty exfoliate my skin but it does take time to see the results.  I like it for the gentle exfoliation.   Do apply moisturiser after that to retain moisture on the skin.

Overall: A very gentle centella asiatica, PHA  exfoliating toner that is gentle to even dry skin type.

Centella Asiatica Extract is a very popular ingredient for acneic and sensitive skin type. It contains 70% triterpenic acids (asiatic acid, madecassic acid, asiatoside). Its potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects speed up wound healing and increase type 1 collagen in skin.  It is ingredient that is safe for pregnant mothers.

Sodium Hyaluronate is a form of the more gentler hyaluronic acid for skin hydration which is good for plumping up skin.

Hydroxyacetophenone is a synthetic antioxidant, a phenolic antioxidant able to neutralise several different types of free radicals. It is also for boosting the preservation system in cosmetics.

The rest the ingredients are for hydration, texture, and preservatives. 

Texture: It has pH5.5 which is closest to our skin pH.  It has slight viscosity watery texture that absorbs into the skin.  It doesn't have any scent to it.

Review: A gentle hydrating ampoule that is suitable for any skin type especially for oily or combination skin.  It does absorbs fast into the skin and hydrate the skin.  Using it for 2 week does make my skin more hydrated and speed up the healing process.

Overall: A hydrating fungal safe ampoule for acne prone combination skin type.

Texture: Absorbs very fast on the skin.  It is hydrating despite having strong scent of alcohol in it. It doesn't have added fragrance or colouring. It has sweet floral chamomile mixed with alcohol scent that disappeared once dried.

Review: It does hydrates my skin, has light watery texture and soften my combination  skin.  I'm not sure if it does much for my acne.

Texture:  Sheet mask size is for small Asian face. Sorry if my face makes it look big. The sheet mask is super thin that I accidentally tore it.  As for the scent, it smells like fermented rice. The yellowish watery essence is from the ingredients since there is no added colouring or scent to it.

Review: This is a mask to use before makeup or a day before so that your face will be glowing and hydrated since it exfoliate and keep the oil moisture on your face. It does have many ingredients so do check them out first before usage especially for sensitive skin.  I do feel slightly warm when I have this sheet mask on my face.

It is an exfoliating toner containing 5% AHA, 1% BHA, 2% PHA, Niacinamide, 2% Tea Tree, Witch Hazel, Raspberry, and Aloe Vera. 

Texture: It is a watery toner that absorbs fast.  It has slight fermented scent of rice which doesn't linger on skin.

Review: It is not a hydrating toner so don't do the "7skin steps" methods else it can damage the skin barrier.  It does exfoliate my skin with daily usage of (once a day at night).  Despite being a toner it can irritates my skin if I am greedy with it and apply more than once a day.  Then my skin doesn't really tolerate much actives.  It does clear my skin and reduces acne on my jaw area.  Overall, a toner that contains all the actives for acne prone skin.

This is a physical sunscreen with Zinc Oxide and Titanium Oxide.

There is also brightening ingredients such as vitamin c and niacinamide.  There many silicones so probably explains the texture. 

Texture: The opaque white paste do have a white cast on darker skin if applied with the correct amount.  It  does make the skin looks dewy .  As for the scent, it has powdery baby powder scent.

Review: It does protect the skin but if you applied the correct amount instead of the tiny little amount that I showed on my hands, it does have strong white cast.  It dries down with some sort of semi glowing look but it does kind of being to oil up on my face by noon.  It is a decent sunscreen overall still. Since I got a 5ml so I was only able to use it for 3days.

The star ingredient is Oat seed Water so it is a water based moisturiser.

Oat water is an ingredients that is really good to soothe itchy skin and irritated skin.  It has anti-inflammatory properties called avenanthramides that reduce irritation and help built better skin barrier.

Other ingredients such as panthenol and squalane are also to hydrate the skin and calm the skin.

The rest the ingredients are for texture, pH adjusting and preservatives. 

Texture: A very soft light gel cream that melts into watery liquid and absorbs really fast onto the skin.  For my combination skin it is enough but when it is irritated, I can apply a few layers of this gel cream and they just absorbs instantly.  It does leaving residue and the texture is like matte after it the gel dries down on my face.   Dry skin probably needs a few more layering with other hydrating products.

There is no scent from this gel cream.

Review: I really like this gel that turns into liquid water that absorbs very fast and just feel really nice in this super hot humid weather in my country.  It doesn't clogged my pores or irritates my fungal acne part of my face.  In fact, it calms and reduces the redness on my skin.  I applied it after I picked on my skin and the redness of that area was gone the next day.   It is an excellent calming moisturiser to apply if one accidentally irritates or over exfoliated the skin.  Using it with some of my other acne products really makes my skin looks really good.  My skin is soft, smooth and clear of redness.   

Some of my colleagues asked what I did to my skin since they noticed the obvious changes on my skin despite me needing to wear mask everyday.

I also tried applied a few layers as sleeping mask after layers of hydrating toners and it works well on my combination skin to balance my skin out. 

Overall: A great light soft moisturiser for calming combination acne prone skin that is fungal safe.

Packaging: Pump transparent blue plastic bottle which makes dispensing the shampoo easy.  The colour depends on the type of shampoo. This one is cooling.

Ingredients talk: Paraben free, sulfate free, alcohol free, silicone free.  

not fungal-acne safe (malassezia). The ingredient being Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate. Just make sure not to get it on your face and since it is wash off, just make sure you don't have fungal problem.

This shampoo is made to have cooling feeling.  It has 7 natural plant oils and also 40 plant ingredients.  

The surfactant is one of the the gentle surfactant derived from coconut so it is pretty gentle.  

Fragrance is the last ingredients in the list.

Texture&Scent: It is water liquid with light minty citrus scent.  It does foam up but not too much.

Review: It does clean my hair gently without dryness or irritation.  I don't have to use conditioner for my hair.  It does have minty feeling on my hair during the duration of the shampoo on my hair until I wash it of from my hair.  My hair does feel more volume to it.  My scalps does look cleaner and not itchy.

Overall: It is a cooling shampoo for oily scalp, live in hot and humid weather.  Also it will be suitable for those that like minty feeling and need to wash their hair often.
