REVIEW ON ISHTAR CLEANSING CLAY POWDER

Hi beautiful,

If you are looking for a cleanser that you can carry for travel(the liquid restriction at the airport made beauty enthusiast hard) and for acne prone skin since you do not want to mess up your routine, do check it out.

Today is a review on Ishtar Cleansing Clay which has low pH and comes from a cruelty free brand.
Ishtar also gives back to charity, contains no SLS, no mineral oil and no paraben.  It is also a brand from United Kingdom with affordable price.

Ishtar Cleansing Clay powder / Ishtar Clay To Milk Cleansing Powder is a cleanser for combination (oily t zone and normal at other area), redness and acne prone skin.  So if you have the same skin type as I do, do check this review.

Clay-to-Milk Cleansing Powder is suitable for vegetarians. It is not tested on animals and is free from SLS, parabens, silicones and mineral oils.

Ingredients:
Kaolin Clay, Coco Nucifera extract, Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate, Pineapple Fruit Powder, Honey, Coconut extract, White willow bark extract, marshmallow root extract, Organic Bergamot Essential Oil, Organic White Grapefruit Essential Oil.

Ishtar Cleansing Clay powder comes in form of a plastic bottle.  You will need to use a spatula to scoop the clay powder.  The soft greyish powder just dissolves into milk upon contact with water.  It doesn't bubble so do not apply too much water.

Ishtar Cleansing Clay powder / Ishtar Clay To Milk Cleansing Powder ingredients does look great for oily or sensitive skin with sebum that needs exfoliation.

Kaolin is great to suck sebum from skin.

The surfactant used is derived from coconut.
Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate is a cleansing agent but it is not a sulfate so it is not the same as SLS.

Pineapple is great for light exfoliation while honey provide calming and antibacterial effect on the skin.

White willow bark is BHA, Marshmallow root is used to reduce the pain and swelling (inflammation) of dry skin.

Organic Bergamot is used to calm the skin and clean the skin. it is the least toxic oil of most oils.

Organic White Grapefruit is popular for exfoliating and brighten your skin. It is popular anti aging ingredients in skincare products.

When we talk about cleanser, the goal is to find a gentle cleanser that will not irritate the skin or clogged the pores. This is especially true for acne prone skin that can just get irritated from some harsh cleansing skincare products.

Ishtar Cleansing Clay powder / Ishtar Clay To Milk Cleansing Powder looks great since it has gentle ingredients that clean my skin without irritation.  My skin feels soft and moist after washing.  It has low pH of pH5-6(mix with water of pH7) which is the pH of our skin too.  The scent of clay is really very faint actually unless one use more powder than water ratio.

The powder melts into the water and coloured the water slightly greyish.  There isn't feeling of beads with this cleanser.  It helps my skin to clear up my acne faster even when I was only using the cleanser with a few of my other acne products.

As for cleansing power, I am surprised with the ability to remove even sweatproof makeup.  As for the eyes area, I use a cotton pad soak in the mixture of the powder and water.  However, it doesn't work on those sweatproof Japanese mascara.

It is sure easily to carry for travelling.  The only thing is I have to use a spatula or else I will pour too much of the powder out of the bottle.

Overall, Ishtar Cleansing Clay powder / Ishtar Clay To Milk Cleansing Powder is great low pH powder suitable for travelling, combination acne prone skin that have redness.

REVIEW ON KLAIRS SUPPLE PREPARATION FACIAL UNSCENTED TONER VS KLAIRS SUPPLE PREPARATION FACIAL TONER

Hi beautiful,

Klairs has been gaining popularity with their Korean skincare products and one of their most popular product is the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner which has changed my mine about not using toner in my skincare routine.

Since I do have both of the toner, today I am doing a review and comparison on both of the toner . Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Unscented Toner vs Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner .

I bought the regular toner myself since I have been liking it and the unscented one is sent to me for review.

Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Unscented Toner vs Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner

The before is taken nearer so it might look like my pores are bigger😂.  My skin is hydrated but it is not that tiny in that second photos.

Both of the toner has the stable vitamin C (antioxidant) in it so it does help to brighten the skin in the long run usage.

Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Unscented Toner is easier for me to use when my skin gets clogged and was breaking out from other products I was trying.  I mix it with some of other powdered products to soothe my skin and clear up the area.  I was also using the toner just as moisturiser with layering 3 layers of it in the morning which works out great too.  I live in hot humid area and have combination skin so a short routine in the morning keeps my skin happy especially when I am rushing in the morning.  It doesn't break me out.  It is also possible to use it with compressed mask mix with some of the centella powder and tea tree serum for hydrated and clearer skin.

As for the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner, use it if your skin love essential oils that is presented inside this toner.  Not every skin is the same since some skin likes essential oils.  I find both of the toner equally hydrating.  However, the original toner might not be suitable if you are breaking out or purging from some other actives or you are using those actives.

Overall, Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Unscented Toner is a great hydrating toner for skin that doesn't like essential oils, love layering hydrating products or just for simple toner compressed mask.  I do like to use as toner mask which helps with soothing, balancing out the water and oil on my skin.

REVIEW ON ALTHEA BARE ESSENTIALS FIXER CREAM

Hi gorgeous,

Here is the review of Althea Bare Essentials Fixer Cream.  You can find the review for the Contour cleanser (HERE) and the primer water toner (HERE).

This Althea fixer cream came from the idea of making Korean skincare steps into 3 simple steps instead of the usual 10 to 20 skincare products and still managed to care for your skin needs.  After all your skin should complete your makeup and not to cover your skin.

This non-oily, quick-absorbing formula harnesses the power of Trehalose, an ingredient found in the cactus plant that prevents its moisture loss, to provide the skin with 24-hour hydration. This ultra-nourishing wonder cream is also rich in antioxidants derived from Camellia Sinensis (green tea) seed oil, and helps to promote collagen regeneration using Baobab Tree extracts. Upon application, your skin is left looking great and feeling bouncy to the touch.

- Penetrates deep into the layers of the skin to plump them
- 24-hour hydration
- Non-sticky finish once absorbed

Ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Methylpropanediol, Dimethicone, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Hydrogenated Poly(C6-14 Olefin), Cyclopentasiloxane, Glyceryl Stearate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60, PEG-100 Stearate, Cyclohexasiloxane, Salvia Hispanica Seed Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Polyacrylate-13, Fructooligosaccharides, Saccharide Hydrolysate, Polyisobutene, Propanediol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Pullulan,Disodium EDTA, Polysorbate 20, Butylene Glycol, Sorbitan Isostearate, Trehalose, Sodium Hyaluronate,Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract,Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Imperata Cylindrica Root Extract, Opuntia Ficus-Indica Stem Extract, Adansonia Digitata Seed Extract, Fragrance

Althea Bare Essentials Fixer Cream comes in a simplistic white box. The frosted jar is actually made from plastic with an aluminium cap.  It doesn't come with a spatula.

The ingredients inside Althea Bare Essentials Fixer Cream are quiet interesting.  It is a mix of water, silicone, oil, fatty acid and fatty alcohol so the reason for the elegant texture.  It is occlusive enough to hold moisture and prevent dryness of the skin too.  Olive oil is high on the list and it emollient enough for dry skin.

Other plant ingredients such as chia seed, centella asiatica, lavender, green tea, Imperata Cylindrica Root, Houttuynia Cordata, Barbary fig and baobab are used for hydration, soothing, calming, antibacterial, humectant and speed up healing.

Prebiotic sugars as in Fructooligosaccharides to heal and soothe skin conditions.

There are also other hydrating ingredients such as the Saccharide Hydrolysate, hyaluronic acid, carbomer and  Polyisobutene.

Do also check the ingredient list for potential irritants.

The opaque white cream has a light cream texture which upon application turns into transparent soft light lotion. It is really smooth and has a dewy look on my skin.  It works great under makeup since it keeps the makeup from caking or drying.  I can only use about diameter 1cm since too much will make combination skin looks really oily.  It does have strong fragrance which I am not a fan.  After using it for about 3 weeks, I find the cream non irritating on my skin. It doesn't cause more acne on my skin or make the acne disappeared.  It does works great for the driest part of my face.

Overall, Althea Bare Essentials Fixer Cream is a great moisturiser for dry skin or for people who need a hydrating base for makeup.  If one do not have problem with the ingredients, then it is a great choice of moisturiser especially someone who looks for occlusive moisturiser.

Hi beautiful,

All the other steps are just additional and nice great skin is the base for makeup.  So, here is the review on Althea Bare Essentials Primer Water.

Check out the review to see if this is the cheaper dupe of the famous Korean 'SP' water.

Both a hydrating toner and a primer in one, the Primer Water contains patented dewdrop technology (Macro Fluidic Dispersion technology) that gently fills the gaps between pores and allows hydration to penetrate deep within the layers of the skin. Made with Snow Lotus extracts, this skincare heavy hitter has an incredibly smooth and silky texture that enhances the skin’s natural glow, leaving you with the perfect canvas.

Althea Bare Essentials Primer Water
- Hydrates and preps the layers of the skin
- “Dewdrops” soften and improve suppleness
- Primer that smooths out unevenness

How to use: Pour out a small amount and gently patting in for better absorption.

Ingredients:
Water, Propanediol, Diphenylsiloxy Phenyl Trimethicone, Alcohol,1,2-Hexanediol, Salvia Hispanica Seed Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tromethamine, Betaine, Fructooligosaccharides, Saccharide Hydrolysate, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Pullulan, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Saussurea Involucrata Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Origanum Vulgare Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Extract, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Sclerotium Gum, Agar, Polysorbate 20, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Fragrance

Althea Bare Essentials Primer Water comes in fancy frosted looking plastic bottle. I do like the minimalistic simple white box and bottle.    You can squeeze the bottle to make the product comes out easier.  The opening is also just suitable to dispense the toner.  The cap is the aluminium screw type which is great because it won't comes loose during travelling with your toner.

Althea Bare Essentials Primer Water has water as the first ingredients, there are solvents, emulsifier, plant extract and fragrance.  There isn't any coloring. Do check out if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.  Chia seed, centella asiatica, sugar, sage, German chamomile, rosemary, lavender, oregano, thyme and agar.  These plants ingredients are chosen for the calming, anti inflammatory and hydrating abilities.

Prebiotic sugars as in Fructooligosaccharides to heal and soothe skin conditions.

The scent is powdery floral scent.  The scent does become faint after 30minutes but it is still there (2 hours and above) but if one apply it a few layers the scent can be strong.  I am used to unscented and Korean medicinal scent so I am not really liking floral scent.  I do know that there are people who loves strong floral scent in their skincare though.

The texture comes out as viscous watery liquid.  It does absorbs fast into the skin and makes the skin hydrated as well as soft without the sticky feeling.

It is a hydrating toner with pH5-6 of so it is not a exfoliating toner.  One can also use it with compressed mask if you like hydrating milky mask.  It is also hydrating enough for the 7skin methods.

After using it for 3 weeks, I think it is a nice hydrating primer toner which is great especially for skin that tend to flakes during makeup.  It doesn't irritate the existing acne but it does not clear it up so I guess it is okay.

Overall,  Althea Bare Essentials Primer Water is nice hydrating toner for makeup, dry to normal skin type, doesn't have problem with the ingredients. It is not a toner for treating acne.
