Fermented skincare products has been the 2016 trend for their benefits and botanical ability to heal the skin gentle and for those that are afraid of adventurous products such as snails.  It is a favourite anti ageing ingredients for all ages.

I am not really interested in fermented skincare products until this Manyo Factory Galactomyces Niacin came along and this is currently one of the popular fermented products with 500,000 bottles sold in these 3 years.  I was really curious as what are the result of this essence on my skin.  I can't also overlook the affordable price too.

Before this, I have only came across this brand from Caniputitonmyface blog.  She is very honest in her review so when something caught her love, I do keep the brand in my mind and check them out.  If you love sheet masks, do check her blog out.

Galactomyces Niacin extra essence in 97% consists of yeast rice fungus Galactomyces extract, Niacinamide, sodium hyaluronidase. The bottle is made from transparent heavy glass so be careful. I like the dropper since I can control the amount of essence use and it does feel like medicinal bottle XD.  Use up the products within 6 months.

I do like that the Manyo Factory Galactomyces Niacin has simple short ingredients and the ingredients are plant based.  Still do check the ingredients list provided.  97% of the ingredients consists of yeast rice fungus Galactomyces extract so it is really high in fermented ingredient.  It is best to put inside the fridge since I don't see any preservatives in it.  I didn't but it still works > < . Please do not take the risk like I do.

Manyo Factory does made feasible claims that 10 days of improve skin tone, 20 days of removing skin troubles and 30 days of skin brightening.  I think it is a good thing so that we can be more realistic of what the product can do instead of expecting instant results.  You do need to be patient as I can only see results starting from the second weeks of usage.

I am going to be honest that this Manyo Factory Galactomyces Niacin is a great fermented essence with great ingredients in it that it does help and reduce the severity of my acne. I have allergic to milk but just can't stop myself so I still break outs but it was not that bad when I am using this niacin essence.  It does improve my skin texture and my pores looks smaller because of the hydration.  So, I think it would be thoughtful for me to not expect this to get rid of severe acne problem.  This helps to reduce the severity, hydrates the skin but you will need to use a spot treatment if you have more than mild acne.  Please do not rely it on just this product alone to get rid of acne.

It doesn't have any added fragrance so it smells much like plasticky but the smells disappeared quickly into the skin.  The transparent essence absorbs into my skin fast and doesn't leave anything behind so I can follow it up with other skincare products.  It does improve the skin texture, calm and heal the acne on my jaw and brighten my skin.  It is a good product to have in conjunction with other acne products.

Overall, Manyo Factory Galactomyces Niacin will be suitable for skin that love fermented Galactomyces, niacinamide for the brightening, light hydration, gentle, damaged red skin and loves plant products. Even oily skin will like as it is really light =).

Fermented skincare and ginseng are gaining a lot of popularity this year.  Both of this are combined into this Hansaeng Cosmetics RIN Bi-gyeol Yun Cream.

The cream.

The two layers jar is made from glass and has a good quality printing that won't fade or disappeared even when I was holding it with oily greasy fingers.  It is heavy so be careful when handling it.  The jar is made to have the same colour as the cream itself.

The yellowish cream smells differently from the Hansaeng Cosmetics RIN Bi-Gyeol Soo Cream.  This has slightly stronger flowery fragrance than the Soo Cream but it is not overwhelming which disappeared once it is on the skin.  The opaque yellowish cream is so smooth and glides without friction on the skin during application of the cream.  It does have better occlusive feeling and works great as a night cream.  I can only use it on my fine lines and around my mouth since petrolatum tend to be heavy on my skin type.  It hydrates and moisturise the fine lines well so I don't have to use a sleeping pack at night. For those who have dry flaky skin which is really hard for makeup to go on the skin, using this cream makes makeup goes on a lot better.

This Hansaeng Cosmetics RIN Bi-Gyeol Yun Cream does contains a lot of plants products, occlusive ingredients, fragrance and colouring.  Do check the ingredients to know if there are ingredients that doesn't work well for your skin.


I am not sure what happens but it had never irritate my skin but it sure can give me clogged pores if I use too much of it since I am living in country with temperature of 35 Celsius(95 F) and 90% humidity. I am sure that this Yun cream will work great during winter when the skin tends to lose moisture easily.


Overall, it is a hanbang cream for one with dry skin type, can handle petrolatum and looks for anti ageing skincare products.  If you don't need something with petrolatum, then probably look for the Hansaeng Cosmetics Rin Bi-gyeol Soo Cream which has ingredients more suitable for combination skin type.  These two are similar in the ingredients and they are also for people who love Oriental medicinal skin care products.

With the current trend of associating food with cosmetics, Lamy Cosmetics, a 50 years Korean company which is famous for their 97% rice paper eating sheet mask has comes out with a vegetable cleansing cream sound which is an interesting cleanser.  It is an innovative cleanser which contains healthy dietary food which are cucumber, carrots, tomatoes and papaya.

First, let's talk about the packaging.  The box is really pretty it has pictures of parsley, cucumber, tomatoes and green colour writings. The box main colour is green.  The jar of cleansing cream is also green with beautiful picture of vegetables.  The huge jar of 200 ml can last 30 months after opening.

Cleansing cream first ingredients is mineral oil and the second ingredients is water.  It is the unique thing about cleansing cream.  Cleansing cream is a cleansing product that similar with cleansing balm and cleansing oil.  It has the texture of cream and the ability of cleansing oil.  So, gentler than soap and lighter than cleansing balm.

Other ingredients in this Lafine vegetable deep cleansing cream are from plants such as papaya, cucumber, tomatoes, parsley, Baical skullcap(Huang Qin) vitamin C, vitamin E and some silicone. Do check out the ingredients for potential allergen since mine is not the same as yours =X.

It comes with spatula so that you can scoop the product out.  The cream is like a soft ice cream texture with tiny green and red granules.  It goes on the skin smoothly. Massage until the granules melted.  Then use water to emulsify the cream cleanser.  It does remove makeup except for hardcore eyeliner.  The cream is able to remove the residue of if i go over it the second time and with a cotton pad.   Make sure to use a second cleanser to remove the residue or else you will feel a film left on the skin.  The cleanser does clean my skin well, doesn't irritate as a first cleanser.

The Lafine Vegetable deep cleansing cream smells of apple which is really nice and makes the cleansing experience enjoyable.

Overall, cleansing power is medium, soft cleanser for dry skin type and has vegetables ingredients in it.  I do like it for the soft texture non irritating cleanser.

DURIAN THE KING OF FRUITS OF SOUTHEAST ASIA

If you are up for a challenge, then do consider putting this into your list to try in the future when you are visiting Southeast Asia next time.  There is no middle ground for this fruit.  You either love it or hate it to the core.  There is no such thing as growing to love it.  This is how this fruits work.  I have never heard someone who said they grow to love it or grow to hate it.

It is a fruit of Love at first Taste or Loathe at first Taste.  I saw this hilarious representation of this King of fruits that it is so stinky that it melted all the clothes and everything from 20km away.  While this fruit is not going to melt away anything, I can't possibly send it to any country because this is going to be deemed as weapon of destruction.

Just look at those thorns and the smell are sure getaway for the custom to think that I am sending you some sort of mass weapon!

The fruit is thorny and Yes, you can kill someone with it. It is heavy.

There are many food made with this King of fruits-donuts, ice cream, cookies, chocolates, cakes and even mooncake.  Unfortunately, if you hate it then you are sure to have your head spinning every time you came across Durians.

I am lucky to like it or else I think I will be suffering when my family members or anyone eats Durians.  Durian is not something that you can hide the smell so the house next door can smell it.  If you like the smell, it smells like creamy sweet flowery jam but if you hate, it sure smell like rotten garbage truck.  I don't have any ideas how the mechanics of smells works for Durians but that is how it is. A friend who hate it at the first sight puke non stop for the whole night after eating a little of the flesh.

The flesh really depends on the varieties of Durians.  It is not a cheap stuff here even if you hate it.  The Musang King (Fox King) varieties is so expensive that I can't afford it with my poor pay.  It is not easy to get it too as it is mostly exported to Hong Kong and to China.  Musang King got its name from being very cunning. It did kill someone by dropping the fruits on top of someone's head.  You can only collect the fruits at night.

 There are some rules to eating this fruit.  You are supposed to drink some water from the rind of the Durian fruits to avoid having fever which is true.  Avoid it when you are having fever or headaches or else it will make it worse.  People who have a cold or is always having cold feet is very much welcome to eat it because it will cure the cold instantly.  It is considered a hearty fruits for those who have a 'cold' body if you can eat it without puking non stop.  Also, do not eat this fruit while drinking alcoholic drink or you will just die of heart attack if you are unlucky.

A fruit eaten to avoid vampire since you need a wooden stake to open the fruits.  *I am just joking*  It is hilarious to cut through Durian with a big saw.

There is a cardboard box which is beautifully decorated which is really beautiful.  It is not easy to take out the cardboard box.  The jar has a very beautiful aluminum embossed with the name of the product and the design > <.  It is a glass jar so be careful in handling it.  There are instructions in English and details about the product in English.  The ingredients are in Hangyul though.

The cream has really good ingredients and is free from T.E.A, artificial scents, mineral oil, isopropyl alcohol, paraben, urea, heavy metals and formaldehyde. However, do check the ingredients because there are many plants extract, beeswax, silicone, shea butter and oils.

If you do have any problems with ingredients list, then this is a really good moisturiser since it has a lot of moisturising ingredients such as ceramide, hyaluronic acid, plant oils and shea butter. The cream smells of lemon mix together with chlorine which I can only tolerate because the smells disappeared after 10 minutes.  The yellowish cream is soft and application of the cream is so easy.  It is not sticky and feels really light on my skin.  In fact, my skin is so soft that I feel like touching it every second XD .  The moisture lasted on my skin even hours after application which is really good since I don't want to be applying moisturiser every few hours.

The cream soothe my skin and prevent it from moisture loss which is great since I use it at night as a night cream.  According to research, lanolin is superior to petrolatum reducing dryness, scaling, cracks, roughness, abrasions, pain and itch.  This is sure for me because application of pure petroleum jelly will just clog my pores.  Besides, it has the nearest composition as the human stratum corneum lipids which is essential to bind water to the skin.  It is also makes a great primer for makeup.

Overall, I will recommend this to dry, aging skin type, damaged skin barrier or during winter where moisture get lost easily. Not recommend if your skin is clogged prone to the ingredients in the list.
