For oily skin type or combination, consider adding oil into your skincare routine.  It tricks the skin into believing that the skin already has enough oil and stop producing more oil.

If you are the type that goes everything oil free and dry your skin out by using harsh cleanser to completely devoid your skin of oil then you will realise that your skin becomes even more oilier and cause more skin problems.

How to use:
Use alone:
1. Apply 2-3 drops on the face and spread over evenly, massage gently until it is fully absorbed.

Mix to use with other skincare products:
1. Add 1-2 drop into Soothe Bamboo Lotion/ Toner/ Serum or Ocean Hydrating Gel Cream.
2. Apply on the face evenly and pat gently for better absorption.

Use on body parts:
1. Apply a proper amount on dry hands, nails, cuticles or hair.

Oils are considered not fungal safe but not all the oils are the same.

The 8 kinds of 100% plant derived oils presented inside this is safe for acne prone skin and especially helpful to deal with inflamation and imbalanced skin type.  Eggplant, Turmeric and Holy Basil are all great ingredients for skin that is prone to redness.  I especially like Melia Azadirachta which is actually Neem that helps tremendously with my hormonal acne and I still use and like it a lot.

Jojoba Seed Oil- with moisturizing properties, jojoba oil protects and lock in skin moisture. It contains a natural vitamin E that work as an antioxidant.

Eggplant Fruit Extract- gives the beautiful deep blue tint in this product. It has skin moisturizing and antimicrobial properties. It is great for anyone with acne-prone skin and damaged skin barrier.

Rose Canina oil- Rosehip is high in omega fatty acids content (linoleic acid and oleic acid) with skin regenerative properties. As a natural source of antioxidant, it has both oil-soluble vitamin E and contains light vitamin A.

Texture and scent: It has a slight sweet herbal scent similar to basil.  It has natural deep blue coloured oil that came from plant.  The light oil turns tranparent absorbing well onto the skin leaving a dewy texture the whole day.

Review:  I use about two drops added into my moisturiser for night application.  It makes my skin so glowing, balanced my skin oil production and makes my skin smoother.  There are actually more than one use for this oil 😄 .  I love this oil on my face so saving this beautiful bottle for long time.  It reduces acne on my face with daily use.  I start to see effect of this oil after 2 weeks and it keeps my skin smooth and doesn't irritate my fungal acne.


Overall:  This is a nice light oil for hydrated glowing skin.  It is suitable for imbalanced skin and acne prone skin type.  I will repurchase it for sure.  It is actually rare to find neem in skincare products and the herbal scent smells is just so good.

Korean beauty trend is moving towards catering skincare products based on what consumers want instead of spending money on marketing telling us what they think we should buy.

Many indie Korean companies put in a lot of effort into building quality products.  Such a brand is Jing Jung Sung (sincerity) with CrediThink for this wonderful Snail Honey Jelly Mask that is very affordable with good quality.


CrediThink tried the product themselves, collected customer’s feedback to specially design this specific mask pack.

Usage:
Generally, mask packs are used in the evening time (though there certainly isn’t any harm in using them at other times).

Do note that there is a mesh sheet attached to the mask when you first open it, which needs to be removed as described in the steps below:
1. Wash and dry face. Follow with toner if desired.
2. Remove and discard the mesh from the mask, and then apply to the face. Be careful when discarding the mesh, as the mask may fold in on itself.
3. Pat the mask until it adheres to the face, then gently massage it until the microbubbles dissipate.
4. Wear for approximately 15-20 minutes, and then discard the mask.
5. Gently massage any remaining serum into the skin (other body parts too)

Packaging: It has a really nice pretty peach colour packaging with a snail infront. Inside there is a mesh to protect the mask inside. Remove it before usage.

Ingredients:  Paraben free, sulfate free, alcohol free, silicone free, Eu allergen free. fungal-acne safe (malassezia). 

There is 10,000ppm of Snail Secretion Filtrate and high Honey Extract (10,000ppm) to provide powerful hydration, antioxidant, speed up healing and soothe the skin.

There are also ceramides, hyaluronic acids which are for hydration.  I do like the mugwort extract which protect and calm the skin.  Niacinamide is very high on the list which is a popular ingredient to brighten skin and clear PIE (the red mark from acne).


If you don't have problem as some people don't like lavender in their products now.



Texture and Scent:  Hydrogel tencel sheet mask which is cottony soft and slimy with high concentration of snail.  One of the mask ingredients is derived from Eucalyptus Trees which in then that infused with serum blend.

As for the scent, it smells like lavender.



Review:  The fit of this sheet mask is wider, has longer nose coverage, bigger eyes' holes and mouth hole(my face is small so don't trust what you see on my face) .  I can wear it for 30minutes until it start drying up.  The sheet mask does adhere to the skin. It doesn't slide down but you cannot do a sommersault with it.  It calm my skin, reduce redness and keeps my skin hydrated.  Skin does look good the next day.

Overall:  Ir ia an affordable good sheet mask for those looking for fungal acne safe sheet mask.  Still do look into the ingredients since some people cannot use lavender oil.

Packaging: It comes in a zipper bag that has all the 7 pieces of mask inside it.  Use a tweezer to take them out or use them within in a week or a month.  The packaging reflect the ingredient which tree honey corn with the blue yellow design.  Everything is in Japanese.  As usual there is no expiry code for products direct from Japan. 


Ingredients talk: 

Ingredients: water, glycerin, propanediol, ascorbyl glucoside, tocopherol, honey, Saccharomyces / day lily flower fermentation, Laminaria japonica extract, zea mays extract, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, xanthan gum, citric acid, sodium citrate, potassium hydroxide , EDTA disodium salt, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, fragrance, BG.

ascorbyl glucoside is a stable form of vitamin C which is good for brightening.
tocopherol is vitamin E which is great for keeping moisture and speed up healing.
saccharomyces/day lily flower/honey ferment filtrate is a filtrate of the product obtained by the fermentation of the flowers of hemerocallis fulva (day lily) and honey by the microorgansim, saccharomyces
Laminaria japonica is a marine species of the Phaeophyceae plant, a type of kelp or seaweed.
Honey is great for hydration and for calming acne prone skin

The rest the ingredients are for hydration, emulsifier, texture, pH adjusting and preservatives.

Texture and fit:  The liquid of the sheet mask is transparent and there is enough for the sheet mask. The size of the mask is the size for a normal Asian face with the cut of smaller eye holes and mouth which you can adjust.  The cotton sheet mask is thin enough which is pretty comfortable.  It has smell of corn which persist through my time of wearing it.  The fit of the sheet mask is the same as other lululun mask which is for asian face.  The sheet mask is of medium thickness and soft cotton texture.


Review:  I was able to wear the sheet mask for 20minutes before it starts drying out.  Then, it is recommended only for 10minutes.  The liquid absorbs onto the skin which is pretty nice.  My skin is hydrated and brighten with this sheet mask.

Overall:  Lululun is an affordable sheet mask for daily sheet masking, skin hydration and for travelling.

HOW TO USE RETINOID (TRETINOIN, RETINOL, ADAPALENE) GUIDE

Retinoid is one of the world best anti aging ingredient for acne and many other skin problems.  The catch is there are ways to use it.  Here are the guides for how to use retinoid ( tretinoin, retin A, tazaroc, adapalene and retinol)

Who should avoid using it?
Pregnant and breastfeeding.  There is not enough evidence and study on the safety of using topical retinoids during this time.

Also if you are still on accutance(oral vitamin A), best to avoid using retinoid.
If you are having some skin allergies and have sunburn avoid using retinoid.

Here is the guide to how to use (tretinoin, retin A, tazaroc, adapalene, retinal &retinol). It is important to know how to use tretinoin so that you won't irritate your skin and get benefits of using retinoid.

How to use it?

Avoid using other actives such as BHA, AHA, vitamin C, benzoyl peroxide etc until your skin got adjusted.

Make sure you have sunscreen, a gentle cleanser and a moisturiser.

1.  Wait 5minutes after cleanser to make sure your face is dry.
2.  Then after application, wait another 5-10min to make sure it is dry before applying moisturiser.
3.  Only once at night every three days.  

4.  A pea size for your whole face.  Divide that one pea size into 5dots (forehead, cheeks, nose, chin) so there should be enough for 5 area.  Then, spread all the dots quickly.

Continue doing that for a month.  Don't rush to apply it everyday because the sensitivity won't show up until it is in your 3rd week.  By then, damage done.

Once your skin builds up tolerance, you can try applying once every two days at night.

Sign of over usage of retinoid?

More breakouts even after 2months into it, peeling, redness, tenderness, everything feels like burning fire on the skin.

Purging should start healing from week 3rd week to 4th week without adding new products into your skincare routine.  If not...you are irritated.

How to heal your skin from retinoid?

Here is how to heal your skin from weak skin barrier caused by irritation of using retinoid ( tretinoin, retin A, tazaroc, adapalene and retinol). It is a simple easy guide on what you should use, how you should use tretinoin, when to use it and also what it means for strong skin barrier.
If you already damage your skin from using too much and too often.  I am sorry for your skin.

Stop using retinoid.  Use a gentle cleanser and moisturise a lot.   Also avoid going out burning in the sun and make sure to use sunscreen.  After a month later if your skin already recovered from that, you can start again but this time be gentle.

Start this journey with knowledge and a good hydrating skincare routine.  You can't speed up the process by applying more.  Retinoid is not an immediate fix.
