FOOD REVIEW ON SAMYANG KIMCHI, BULGOGI,TOPOKKI, JJANG

Hi Korean instant noodles lover,


Samyang is famous for that Samyang Hot Chicken Flavour that makes your stomachs feel like it is on fire. If you personally cannot stomach spiciness like I do, then you will be glad to know that Samyang came out with four new flavours now. Bulgogi, Jjajang, Topokki and Kimchi flavours. Bulgogi and JJang are both stir fried noodles. Topokki and Kimchi are both noodle soup. Their noodles are Halal certified with the stamp at the lower bottom right of the packaging so it is suitable for Muslims too. The package is 80g for one packet and contains 5 packets in one bag.

Kimchi noodle soup is my favourite since I love the taste of kimchi and this just reminds me of it. The broth smells of nice kimchi flavour. It does look spicy but it isn't. It has a slight hint of very mild spiciness at the end of slurping the soup which is really enjoyable. I love the kimchi soup which has the right amount of sourness and slight sweetness. The noodles are so heavenly amazing. The noodles is small and looks normal but it sure has a splendid smoothness with the just the right amount of bouncy texture that makes slurping up the noodles a pleasant unique experience. Unlike some local instant noodles, the noodles does not expand and becomes soggy. I find it easy to chew even when it is for someone over 50 years old and for little children. 5/5 rating for me. A must try noodles.

Topokki flavour is the same as eating the real topokki. The soup is a bit thicker than the kimchi one and is more spicy with more sweetness. It is nice for those that love Korean Topokki since this remind me the exact taste of it. This is a mild Topokki since some Korean topokki can be really spicy. So if you love topokki, try this out. 4/5 rating since I think the sweet taste can be tone down more. A friend of mine love the noodles a lot but she agrees with me that the sugar sweetness should be tone down a bit.

Jjajang is black beans sauce noodles that is a stir fried noodles. This Korean black bean sauce noodles appears on the Korean drama. If you love Jajangmyeon (자장면) or jjajangmyeon (짜장면) then you will like this. This is not spicy at all and it is sweet just like the real jjanjangmyeon so try it out. Again loving the noodles which is really soft, bouncy and it is just so so good going down from my stomach from my throat. it is the noodles for those that cannot eat any spiciness in it4/5 rating .

Bulgogi flavour is stir fried noodles which has the flavour of marinated slices of beef grilled on a barbecue or on a stove-top griddle. Again the noodles has just the perfect texture that I had eaten in the past and makes me crave the noodles. It has the nice blend of beef scent, slight sweetness and a hint of spiciness which is really very mild. So, if you are the type that can eat only slight spiciness, then this is the right one. Again love love the noodles which is small, great nice smoothness with bouncy texture that makes eating the noodles pleasurable. It doesn't turn soggy at all.
Overall, I would give 5/5 for this.


As for my favourite among the four new flavours, it would be the Samyang Kimchi for the noodles soup and the Bulgogi for the stir fried noodles. Yumm, now let me go and buy the new flavours that is already out. If you are absolute people who can only accept slight mild spiciness or zero spiciness, then do check these new flavours out. They are really delicious.
