It is troublesome to apply the fake eyelashes one by one on the eyelashes so the easiest way to have a visible eyelashes would be using mascara.  Here is the Collection Cosmetics 'Does it All Mascara".

The "Does it all mascara" does lengthen and gives volume to my very light and sparse eyelashes. It also lasted the whole day and doesn't smudge.  There is no funny smell on the mascara.  The not so good part would be the brush is a little too big for Asian eyes so it is troublesome for a clumsy person like me and it did clump if I tries to apply more than 3 coats. hahahaha.  Yes, still trying to see if a mascara can do better than fake eye lashes or eye lash extension.
