FOOD REVIEW ON HAI SOON RESTAURANT

HUP SOON RESTAURANT

This is a family restaurant owned by a young husband and wife.  They will only opened it after 7pm so be prepared to wait for nearly 45minutes before you get serve.  Services is generally slow so don't visit it when it is full.  It is not a halal restaurant.

Ba Kut Teh
Bak Kut Teh

Their most famous dishes would be the Bak Kut Teh.  It is count bases on person and not on how big is your pot. No refill for the Bak Kut Teh.  One can choose the type of meat that goes inside the Bak Kut Teh.  I don't like intestines so I choose the ribs, 3layer pork and also the normal pork.  There is also some tofu skin.  I think it may be duration of time they cooked the meat as I find all the types of hard and too chewy for my liking. Soup based was pretty salted and again not to my liking.  RM7 to RM8 per person.

 rice in a traditional bowl
 rice in a traditional bowl

Their rice are served in this traditional bowl.  So, one have to use chopstick to eat or it would be very difficult to with spoon and pork.  Rice are not really nice as I think they are just using the cheapest rice available.

Sautee mustard
Sautee mustard

Sautee mustard is not bad.  The vegetables is cooked just nice and the leaves are not hard or overcooked.  It is sautee using lard and it comes with bits of crunchy pork   Unfortunately, if you are a healthy freak you would find this not to your liking.

chrysanthemum tea
chrysanthemum tea

This is a chrysanthemum tea but they served it in a beer glass.  Don't mistake with beer.  Here, they served beer as well.  The tea is smell nice and clear.  It is not too sweet or too plain.  I think this drink is nice.

vegetables RM7
Ba Kut Teh RM8 per person
chrysanthemum tea RM1 per glass

Food here are not sponsored by anyone.  The opinions expressed here are my own and honest as always.
