REVIEW ON RESTAURANT AH SO BAH KUT TEH, KLANG, SELANGOR (NON HALAL)

Today is food adventure in Klang 😊 . This is a non Halal place meaning that it serves pork.  Bah Kut Teh is a Malaysian Chinese dish that is really popular and only available in Malaysia.  So, Klang which is a district in Selangor is the most popular place for Bah Kut Teh.

So, here is a restaurant that serves Bah Kut Teh but of course this place is not the popular one that appears in travel books and television.  It is just a restaurant that I happened to just stop because I was lost for breakfast before going somewhere.

Ah So Bah Kut Teh, Klang, Selangor, Malaysia has  a simple interior.  One can see the kitchen and all the others tables once you have seated there. The round tables are made for Chinese that tend to come with a big families.  You can either choose to have individual drinks or Chinese tea. I chose Chinese tea because you can refill the hot water later.  The tea 'Tie Guan Yin'(mandarin) is those really cheap loose tea which isn't that good.

Bah Kut Teh comes in either dry or wet one. I prefer soupy stuff.  Bah Kut Teh is actually pork cooked in Herbal soup.  Eating it is to give more vigor and provide more revitalizing effect to the body that needs a lot of energy to work. It used to be food for people working as labourers in the harbour since you need to carry all those heavy stuff and work really hard.

Now, we eat it as part of giving more nourishment to the body.  This Bah Kut Teh comes with pork, some tofu skin and salad.  One do need to mention the parts that you want or do not want. I obviously do not eat the small or big intestine so I usually mentioned that I do not want it else your Bah Kut Teh is going to come with it.  The soup is a little more watery and tone down with probably less herbs.  The pork isn't particular delicious, soft or seasoned.  It isn't tender but I think it could be better if given more cooking time.  The amount of the ingredients VS the price are just okay which is not cheap nor too expensive.

This restaurant serves their Bah Kut Teh with the Yau char kuey or You Tiao Char Koi. Char Koi is the flour stick which is like the Chinese Donut.  People from Hong Kong usually eat it with porridge.  In Malaysia, the Chinese like to eat it with the Bah Kut Teh.  It was okay. It is not particular soft or particular crunchy.

As for the rice, they use lower quality of rice since I don't think there is particular fragrant smell coming from it and the grains are not that pretty.  It would be better if one can provide better medium grade rice that could entice their patrons to eat more than a simple one just to fill in their stomach.

Customer service is okay since I could speak Chinese.  They are really fast at picking order but your orders come after 30 minutes of waiting which is kind of slow for me.

Overall, it is just an okay place to eat Bah Kut Teh. I am not hating or loving it.


The rice, chinese tea, Bah Kut Teh(for two person) and the char koi cost RM50.  I think the price must have surely increased now with things increasing already.

[ALTHEA X WITHSHYAN] SUMMER NEGATIVE SPACE FRUIT NAIL ART DESIGN

Hi nail art lovers,

I was excited to receive the Withshyan Nail It Box which is really great for summer nail art design.  I think it would be a great to create a simple DIY on negative space combined with fruit design for a minimalist design that is in trend for 2017.

Pineapple (thumb), grapes (pinky), pear(ring finger), durian(middle finger) and watermelon (index finger). I wonder which one you like?

Things needed:
withshyan Nail polishes in :
-Honeymoon is a bright red color with fine black glitters.

-Green Latte is a yellowish light green.

-Green Leaf is a dark green.

-filler base
-UV gel nail top coat
-peel off
-nail polish remover
-toothpick or tiny watercolour brush or bobby pin(optional)
-ruby pusher or tweezer (optional)

Tutorial on a simple Korean design, negative space Watermelon nail art.
1. Apply base coat.
2. Apply the peel off around the nail, and on half of the nail. Be generous with the amount and be careful because this is very important for the outcome of the nail.
3. Apply two coat of Green latte(light green) over the inner part of the nail. Let it dry.
4. Apply the peel off with a very thin line near the cuticle. Do leave a thin space before the cuticle. make sure to apply a few layer on top of each other and be careful during application.
If you do not have peel off, you can cut scotch tape or reinforcement ring.
5. Apply Green leaf(dark green) near the cuticle.
6. Apply Honeymoon(red) after the peel off.
7. Wait for both to dry properly.
8.Peel off carefully.
9. Apply top coat to make it look like gel nail.

So, that is the tutorial on a simple negative space watermelon nail art. You can change the green latter to Green leaf (dark green) if two layers of watermelon skin is difficult.  I don't use gel nail polishes since I don't UV nail polishes or the UV lamp so using the normal nail polishes can also product beautiful effect too.

You don't have to use the same brand of nail polishes as I do. Since I received the box for review and it has so many colours that I want to use, I just thought that it would be good idea to share a Korean nail art using Korean nail polishes.

I really like  Withshyan Nail It Box since it allows me to do a lot of nail art and patterns.

Spring golden bell, Mango, Honeymoon, Reddish purple, Geranium, Bouquet, Green Latte, Green Leaf, Lapis Lazuli.  The nail polishes are really vibrant, smooth and dry fast.  The colours are just perfect for this summer given that pastel goes well with the this year fashion trends. Their nail products are of good quality and definitely worth the money.

What I really like from this box is the peel off which you can use to create a lot of patterns on the nail. This make it a lot easier to do nail art on the other hand using my non dominant hands. I think many of you can understand that it is really a struggle to just apply nail polish using our non dominant hand.

The top cot is really great to create the gel nail polish look. Apply it on top for the gel nail effect look which is really nice.

Overall, Withshyan Nail It Box is a great box to get and I love every products inside this box.  I will probably do more nail art design in the future.

Usage:

Hello Skin Jumiso Water Splash Mask sheet has a cute packaging and a box consist of 5 sheet masks. It has a golden seal at the top of the box.  There are five variants to the mask and the one I got is the one for hydration which is great for dry skin type and for over exfoliated skin.

Their sheet made are cupra sheet made from 100% cotton and is the thinnest sheet mask at the moment. It really felt soft like silk.  There is a mesh sheet with handle to avoid the sheet mask get torn off.

Ingredients wise, the first ingredient is water, followed by glycerin.  There is beta glucan, some plant extracts (xylitol,laminaria japonica etc) , marine ingredients such as algae and spirulina, vitamin E, allatioin, arginie. castor oil, ceramide, shea butter and few hyaluronic acids.  Brightening and healing ingredients such as vitamin C and niacinamide, Most of the ingredients are gearing towards hydration and moisturising for drier skin type.

Hello Skin Jumiso Water Splash Mask sheet does have scent that is typical of men's products. I don't mind the scent since I do use products marketing for male.  The scent does persist until the sheet mask dries off.  I am not sure about what others think but I don't think the scent is strong at all but if you are the one that prefer floral, fruity kind of smell marketed for women then this might not be the scent you are looking for.

I find that the fit of the mask is great because I have something that finally covers my jaw line.  The sheet mask adhere to my skin even being that thin and the essence is actually slightly gelish milky which is interesting.  It doesn't drip down to my neck even when the sheet mask is thin showing the ability to hold essence.  There is extra essence which I use to apply on my leg. Honestly, one need to use more than just one sheet mask to see the obvious effect on the skin.  I use three of the sheet masks from the box to confirm my views on it.  I really find that it helps my skin to hydrate and heal my skin when it is irritated without clogging my pores.  Not sure about brightening since most sheet mask brighten my skin slightly.

Overall, Hello Skin Jumiso Water Splash Mask is affordable, nice interesting ingredients, comes with a really cute beautiful packaging, keep my skin hydrated, heal it and if you don't mind the scent. Hopefully Hello Skin Jumiso will do something to the fragrance because most people dislike such scent,

COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask Is a really popular sleeping mask because it contains 65% of Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract and because of its affordability.  The ingredients are basically moisturising but it does have Cetearyl Alcohol, silicone, palm oil and olive oil that can be too heavy for some people😶. (combination or oily skin type)

It doesn't have any strong smell which is good. It does smells like rice water if you get what I mean. COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask is smooth and feels really light which is nice. Unfortunately, it clogged my pores like it did with my forehead(I rarely breakouts on my forehead). I had tried it more than 5months so I am pretty sure it is this one.

I find that it is excellent to help dry patches around my mouth and on my body.  However, it just doesn't play well if I applied in the morning or on a hot humid day😡. It caused my face to be oily and also clogged.   It is great to seal in all the skincare products that I use😍 provided that I use it during cold days(27 celcius is consider cold here😆) and apply very little.  For dry mature skin without sensitivity to oil palm or clogging problem, COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask will works better😍.

Remember to keep inside the fridge because in a humid place like South East Asia as the oil can separate and it will spoil really fast because the plastic jar is exposed to the air.  Cosrx had the tube for Christmas.  I don't know if they are thinking of making the tube for long term as I don't get reply from them.  I heard having COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask in tube will avoid spoiling from happening.

Overall, COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask is a great sleeping mask or moisturiser for dry skin type, during winter and if you don't get irritated to any of the ingredients(specially the palm oil or the olive oil in it).

FOOD REVIEW ON FREEZE DRIED DURIAN MUSANG KING

I know adventurous people like you are out there waiting to try this wonderful fruit of South East Asia aka the King of Fruit or more known by the name Durian.

I hope no one actually fainted seeing the word Durian here. Yes, I love Durian XD and it is not stinky at all.  This is a fruit that either gather hates or likes. You can't get someone say it is okay.

Musang King Durian is to one of the Top quality of Durian and it is really expensive for the exquisite taste for those that love it.  The price is also different for there is demand for Musang King durian.  So, a person like will just make do with this Freeze Dried Durian Musang King (50g) which travelled to me without the smell that can choke people out.

Freeze Dried Durian Musang King comes in a secure packet without leaking of any Durian smell.  One just snip off the top and there will be a zip kind so that one can seal it back. There is no need to keep inside the fridge.

Freeze Dried Durian Musang King comes in a dried fruit kind.  If you just bite it, it will come across as really crunchy crackers but to get the most of the taste, one has to let it melt on the tongue. Just put the dried fruit inside the mouth and wait for it to melt.  It will taste like a melted Durian ice cream which is so good. I know people who hate Durian will faint at this too-good-too-to-be-true tasty fruit but it is good.  The smell is not like those artificial durian ice cream or those durian sweets.  This is really nice and the smell is still strong even when it is in dried form.


Freeze Dried Durian Musang King is imported into Brunei and Singapore so it must be of highest quality to do so.  There is also certification from Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (Mesti) and pass GMP 1 from the Minister of Health of Malaysia.

Overall, I do highly recommend Freeze Dried Durian Musang King if you couldn't get the fresh Musang King or just wanted something to eat during travel but do not want to disturb people with the smell. It is great as gift too. I haven't tasted the fresh Musang King because it is too expensive for my wallet.
