TRAVEL TO TELUK INTAN DECEMBER 2016

Hi Wanderlusts,

It has been long since I talked about food and also travelling. I am separating this post with the food post or else I cannot fit this inside one post. I don’t earn much so I can only afford to travel in Malaysia so if you are looking for some other Asians’ hot spot for youngster, then this is probably not going to be it.

Teluk Intan actually means “Diamond Bay” if translated to English. It sounds really glamorous right? No, there is no diamond mine to dig from this place XD. The name is taken from a famous beautiful women that got her diamond fall into the river that she was bathing and this the name.

This place is full of one ingredients that is in the Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask and Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask

If you have managed to guess it correctly. Yes, it is the oil palm trees! This is how it look like if you are interested in seeing how one of the ingredient looks like.

Nope, it doesn’t smell nice and it doesn’t shade well. More like stinky oily earthy smell and if you work with the palm oil before. So, let’s stop discussing about palm oil. I am sorry that I bore you.

Leaning tower
Okay, here is the famous leaning tower of Teluk Intan which is build since 1885-you can call it Dupe of Pisa, Italy. Hahahaha. It is leaning and just hope that it doesn’t come crashing down anytime soon. If you look at it, you might think that it is eight storey high but it is actually just three storey high. It is used as water tank to distribute water in the past. Yeah, talk about the hardship when people have to walk really far, queue up for hours to carry precious water back home. Now, it is a Natural Heritage, historical monument and there is maintained because the colour does seems better compare to picture in the past.

Kompleks Aik Aik. There are some small shops selling accessories in there. It feels abandoned because there are not many tenants in there and it is so dark in there that you will feel like it is some sort haunted building.

The Store

The Store. This is a shopping store. It is not really that huge but okay for shopping. If you like shopping, then Kuala Lumpur would be more interesting and better. There is a popular Halal shop for mee rebus right across this building so this is a landmark if you plan to for the Mee Rebus. I will talk about that in my food post.

This is the temple near the public bank in the town. This temple is really old and older than the Leaning tower of Teluk Intan. Of course it, this is the part of old area of how Teluk Intan used to look like. The area in front of the building will sink every time it rains so it is dangerous. That is why you can see the tires and sand in front of here. It won’t get fill up no matter how much people fill in.

Even most shop near there closes down. There is a story of how Teluk Intan leaning tower came about after this temple but it is known to only a few of the older generation. Anyone interested to listen to some grandmother story????

The road that makes you feel like you are in some western country but minus the high 36 Celsius degree temperature. Beautiful right?

old house in Teluk Intan
old house in Teluk Intan

This is an example of an old house. No, we don’t live in the trees. This is in the 1950s where life is difficult and it is said that houses in this row are haunted. Now, most of it had collapsed or demolished.

There is a river here but only if you are interested on a YELLOW river with a story about two crocodiles in there. I only heard it from the locals that there is two crocodiles living in that river.

There isn’t much to see in Teluk Intan other than the famous dupe of Pisa tower. If you are here, food is your second reason to visit Teluk Intan. I will recommend all the food that I ate in the next post because it is way too long to talk about it here.

I will suggest to drive if you plan to come over to Teluk Intan because public transport is not readily available and difficult. All food places are far from each other. Moreover, remember to get those parking ticket from a bookstore (you need a parking ticket else you will need to pay compound ) and it is always congested(with cars) in the town.

Do comments if you like my post because it means a lot to me.

This is the Doraemon fair held in Mall. There are Doraemon merchandise sold but they are generally very expensive XP. So, here are just the photos of it. I wish the door is coming to reality soon so that I can just travel around with foot instead of cars which is way of a hassle. Many here drives like a mad person here that I feel that my life is threaten every seconds.

Here is the end of the photos around Jonker Street. It was just a one day trip XP.

There is nothing much to see unless you are interested in ancient stuff like museum. I generally just eat non-stop when I got travelling.

I hope that you will enjoy reading this post. Thank you and see you in my next posts. =)

REVIEW ON NADEJE MILLE CREPE THE ORIGINAL MILLE CREPE

People say “curiosity kills the cat”. It doesn’t kill anyone except killing my expectation. How curious? I was curious enough to think about the mille crepe for three days and two nights. I also keep on bugging my friend to no end for it. Partly also because someone asked me to try it out knowing that I am going there.  This is part of the food trip in Melaka I did in late December.

Yes, I have to queue up and I hate queuing up for anything at all. I have to keep on telling myself to be patient for this famous cake. We got seated first because there were only two of us. So, if you are going out there in a group, chance is you are going to wait longer. The bigger your group, the longer you might need to wait.

Let face it, bigger groups tend to hand out really long compare to two people who are just there for dessert and nothing else.

We ordered the orange chocolate and green tea. Both are non alcohol. There are alcoholic mille crepes if you want but well, I was more interested in trying the green tea mille crepe.

I probably have Milky way High of an expectation for the mille crepes. I was not blown away to Pluto when I ate them. The green tea cake is not soft enough and it is too creamy. The red beans is too small for me to be able to feel the taste and texture of how red beans should be.

Orange chocolates taste better. There is mixture of chocolates and oranges. However, the chocolates could be more as I can taste more heavy creamy than the chocolates.

I think my experience was not really a good one partially because I was seated next to a family with a kid that is noisy enough for me to think twice of coming back. Parents just let the child run around and this disturb people next to them. I just can’t wait to get out of the shop because I like to enjoy my food in a peaceful manner, not with disturbance.

Overall, it is not exceptional enough for me to go again. It is a hip place for the young adult and youngster. I rather go back to the Jonker Street for the Melaka coffee or other state coffee.

You can get a stamp with every Rm15 spent in a single receipt. Collect 10 and you can get a slice of cake.

RM12.60 per slice (including 6% GST- RM0.725)

I had it at the Mahkota Parade
