TRAVEL TO TELUK INTAN DECEMBER 2016

Hi Wanderlusts,

It has been long since I talked about food and also travelling. I am separating this post with the food post or else I cannot fit this inside one post. I don’t earn much so I can only afford to travel in Malaysia so if you are looking for some other Asians’ hot spot for youngster, then this is probably not going to be it.

Teluk Intan actually means “Diamond Bay” if translated to English. It sounds really glamorous right? No, there is no diamond mine to dig from this place XD. The name is taken from a famous beautiful women that got her diamond fall into the river that she was bathing and this the name.

This place is full of one ingredients that is in the Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask and Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask

If you have managed to guess it correctly. Yes, it is the oil palm trees! This is how it look like if you are interested in seeing how one of the ingredient looks like.

Nope, it doesn’t smell nice and it doesn’t shade well. More like stinky oily earthy smell and if you work with the palm oil before. So, let’s stop discussing about palm oil. I am sorry that I bore you.

Leaning tower
Okay, here is the famous leaning tower of Teluk Intan which is build since 1885-you can call it Dupe of Pisa, Italy. Hahahaha. It is leaning and just hope that it doesn’t come crashing down anytime soon. If you look at it, you might think that it is eight storey high but it is actually just three storey high. It is used as water tank to distribute water in the past. Yeah, talk about the hardship when people have to walk really far, queue up for hours to carry precious water back home. Now, it is a Natural Heritage, historical monument and there is maintained because the colour does seems better compare to picture in the past.

Kompleks Aik Aik. There are some small shops selling accessories in there. It feels abandoned because there are not many tenants in there and it is so dark in there that you will feel like it is some sort haunted building.

The Store

The Store. This is a shopping store. It is not really that huge but okay for shopping. If you like shopping, then Kuala Lumpur would be more interesting and better. There is a popular Halal shop for mee rebus right across this building so this is a landmark if you plan to for the Mee Rebus. I will talk about that in my food post.

This is the temple near the public bank in the town. This temple is really old and older than the Leaning tower of Teluk Intan. Of course it, this is the part of old area of how Teluk Intan used to look like. The area in front of the building will sink every time it rains so it is dangerous. That is why you can see the tires and sand in front of here. It won’t get fill up no matter how much people fill in.

Even most shop near there closes down. There is a story of how Teluk Intan leaning tower came about after this temple but it is known to only a few of the older generation. Anyone interested to listen to some grandmother story????

The road that makes you feel like you are in some western country but minus the high 36 Celsius degree temperature. Beautiful right?

old house in Teluk Intan
old house in Teluk Intan

This is an example of an old house. No, we don’t live in the trees. This is in the 1950s where life is difficult and it is said that houses in this row are haunted. Now, most of it had collapsed or demolished.

There is a river here but only if you are interested on a YELLOW river with a story about two crocodiles in there. I only heard it from the locals that there is two crocodiles living in that river.

There isn’t much to see in Teluk Intan other than the famous dupe of Pisa tower. If you are here, food is your second reason to visit Teluk Intan. I will recommend all the food that I ate in the next post because it is way too long to talk about it here.

I will suggest to drive if you plan to come over to Teluk Intan because public transport is not readily available and difficult. All food places are far from each other. Moreover, remember to get those parking ticket from a bookstore (you need a parking ticket else you will need to pay compound ) and it is always congested(with cars) in the town.

Do comments if you like my post because it means a lot to me.

HOW TO GET RID OF ACNE AND ASIAN SKINCARE TIPS FOR ACNE

Hi fighter,

I am terribly sorry to say I didn’t manage to do my skincare routine for acne prone skin for you. This post is just sitting in my draft chilling for 2 years because each time I wanted to publish it, I have to try something new. Since I blog, I change my skincare products more than snake changes their skin. I just do not want to give the impression that it is a MUST to use 20 products in one skincare routine in order to get skin like Korean stars.

Besides, some people might think I play favoritism or write glowing reviews just because I get the products for review. You do know I don’t bash a product like there is no tomorrow but I will be honest about why it just doesn’t work for me. I don’t have HG also unless I am sure that the product(s) have work wonderfully for me in whatever situation or I just cannot live without it.

My skin was okay until my skin broke again in January 2016 because I was dealing with a lot of things. I got kick out of a job, need money to pay bills and being very sickly because I was not eating well. All in all, I was not okay inside out. SO grumbly aside and being thankful that you stay with me especially Luscious that even send me a care package. THANK you =)  .

So, here are some new tips that I use to deal with acne. You do not have to get what I use since it is just a guide.  There are many to choose and please look into ingredients.

How I get rid of acne&Asian skincare tips for acne prone skin

Tips mentioned in the video:

1.  Suitable skincare products-cleanser, moisturizer and a spot treatment.

2.  Find out your allergies and avoid them. Common food allergies are milk, sugar, flour, wheat.

3.  Drink warm ginger +turmeric to help with the acne inflammation.

UNBOXING AND SHOP ONLINE FOR ASIAN BEAUTY PRODUCTS AT MOCHI BEAUTE

Hi gorgeous people =) ,

Today I am going to introduce a US based website to shop for your Korean skincare and Asian latest products.  I do know that most readers are from US and complain that shopping from Korea takes forever to reach or it got lost on the way.  Besides, cost of shipping from other country can be saved and allows you to get another product.

So, here is Mochi Beauté which is a new website that I really like.

UNBOXING AND SHOP ONLINE FOR ASIAN BEAUTY PRODUCTS AT MOCHI BEAUTE

So here is some details about Mochi Beauté.

Mochi Beauté is an online asian beauty boutique with a focus on affordable, yet high quality skincare. In the past five years there has been an enormous increase in Western world’s interest in Asian skincare and culture. Mochi Beauté strives to meet the demand and interest by curating the newest products on the asian markets and making them available to consumers in North America. Mochi Beauté gives you the opportunity to shop for the latest hit products in South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan but delivered to your home from a US based retailer, reducing the risk of international commerce and reducing door to door shipping times.

Mochi Beauté care a lot about their customer so you can just send them an email (info@mochibeaute.com) or tag Mochi Beauté on Instagram (@mochibeaute) to let them know if there are products that you want to see them carry.

Fist of all let's discuss about the website, I think the website is friendly user and finding products are just a walk in the park.  There are enough information along with ingredients to make sure that you do know what you are getting.  It is also very colourful and beautiful =) .

As for their customer service, it is top notch.  They take their customer service seriously and you can discuss with Mochi Beauté if you have questions at all. You will feel welcomed in the shop and treated like a customer. How I wish such level of service exist in my country.

Price for the products are affordable in my opinion and not marked up ridiculously like some places.  Their products are really authentic and source from the country of origin.  There are varieties of products that are really nice and not just limited to Korean products.  Many of the brands such as Maskingdom, Klavuu, SkinRx Lab and Beauty Diary are really popular for its quality and effect on the skin.

As for the best part of all, Mochi Beauté gives samples to all their customers.  How great is that?  I took the liberty and asked about the samples because I am sure that is something on every customer mind but am shy to ask about it XD .  If not, I am so sorry for sounding like a greedy one trying to make the best out of your shopping.hahahaha.

Let's go into the juicy now.  All orders come with 3-5 Klavuu samples, Japanese flake stickers, at least one small Maskingdom sample mask and a sample bag that contains about 5 mixed samples. All these doesn’t depend on the amount you order.  Here is how it look =)

PETRONAS DEEPAVALI 2016

Happy Deepavali,

It has been some time since I watch some really great web-film and I think this year Petronas came out with an amazing video depicting the stereotype that we have of others.

It is easy to judge others by the appearance without seeking the true reason.  Here is a video about Muniandy and his friend.  Can they escape the misjudgement?

In light of the Deepavali celebration, let us Malaysians learn to respect each others differences and embrace our similarities.  Let the light shines within us, respect each other as individuality and as Malaysians. Let the goodness guide us as Malaysians towards greater harmony can be achieved through greater understanding and compassion.

You can also watch #PETRONASDeepavali2016 webfilm from bit.ly/2eT069C or at Petronas Facebook

DURIAN THE KING OF FRUITS OF SOUTHEAST ASIA

If you are up for a challenge, then do consider putting this into your list to try in the future when you are visiting Southeast Asia next time.  There is no middle ground for this fruit.  You either love it or hate it to the core.  There is no such thing as growing to love it.  This is how this fruits work.  I have never heard someone who said they grow to love it or grow to hate it.

It is a fruit of Love at first Taste or Loathe at first Taste.  I saw this hilarious representation of this King of fruits that it is so stinky that it melted all the clothes and everything from 20km away.  While this fruit is not going to melt away anything, I can't possibly send it to any country because this is going to be deemed as weapon of destruction.

Just look at those thorns and the smell are sure getaway for the custom to think that I am sending you some sort of mass weapon!

DURIAN THE KING OF FRUITS OF SOUTHEAST ASIA
DURIAN

The fruit is thorny and Yes, you can kill someone with it. It is heavy.

More pictures.
DURIAN THE KING OF FRUITS OF SOUTHEAST ASIA
DURIAN

There are many food made with this King of fruits-donuts, ice cream, cookies, chocolates, cakes and even mooncake.  Unfortunately, if you hate it then you are sure to have your head spinning every time you came across Durians.

I am lucky to like it or else I think I will be suffering when my family members or anyone eats Durians.  Durian is not something that you can hide the smell so the house next door can smell it.  If you like the smell, it smells like creamy sweet flowery jam but if you hate, it sure smell like rotten garbage truck.  I don't have any ideas how the mechanics of smells works for Durians but that is how it is. A friend who hate it at the first sight puke non stop for the whole night after eating a little of the flesh.

The flesh really depends on the varieties of Durians.  It is not a cheap stuff here even if you hate it.  The Musang King (Fox King) varieties is so expensive that I can't afford it with my poor pay.  It is not easy to get it too as it is mostly exported to Hong Kong and to China.  Musang King got its name from being very cunning. It did kill someone by dropping the fruits on top of someone's head.  You can only collect the fruits at night.

There are some rules to eating this fruit.  You are supposed to drink some water from the rind of the Durian fruits to avoid having fever which is true.  Avoid it when you are having fever or headaches or else it will make it worse.  People who have a cold or is always having cold feet is very much welcome to eat it because it will cure the cold instantly.  It is considered a hearty fruits for those who have a 'cold' body if you can eat it without puking non stop.  Also, do not eat this fruit while drinking alcoholic drink or you will just die of heart attack if you are unlucky.

A fruit eaten to avoid vampire since you need a wooden stake to open the fruits.  *I am just joking*  It is hilarious to cut through Durian with a big saw.

So, here is the fruit of the season of Durians.  Have you eaten this King of Fruits?  Do you have a fruit that you like to eat?

RM40 for three medium size Durian.

FOOD:INSTANT NOODLES IN SOUTH EAST ASIA

Alright, this is not a healthy food post to say XD.  I am sorry that I do eat unhealthy once in awhile.  If you have been watching any Asian drama especially the modern drama from Hong Kong, then seeing instant noodles which is a common thing.  Many will question if it is that delicious.  Yes, I am afraid to say so that these instant are so good that they are addictive.

It is common here, when people ask if you can cook, it does not include cooking  'instant noodles'.  This bowl of instant noodles might look like it is cooked by some high end restaurant but it is actually done in less than 5 minutes if you include the eggs XD.

There are many flavour but this is a vegetarian flavour so it is suitable for vegetarians.

There are instructions on how to cook it.

INSTANT NOODLES IN SOUTH EAST ASIA-Mamee vegetarian

So here is the ingredients.  It is not health so only this like once in a while.

INSTANT NOODLES IN SOUTH EAST ASIA-Mamee vegetarian

I like it with eggs and some vegetables since eating the noodles is just boring.

It is easy to cook it.
Instruction.
1.Boils the water.
2. Once the water is boil, add vegetables and fishballs.
3. Put the noodles in and cooked for 2minutes.
4..Add fried eggs.
5. Add in the flavour according to your needs.  I usually only add half a packet or else it is too salty.

Most people in Malaysia prefer the curry, laksa, white curry which are spicy XD.  There are many other flavour such as the fried instant noodles too.  Instant noodles are really common here since it is easy to cook and delicious although they are not healthy at all.  So please do not cook this for your Asian parents or Asian parents in law because it is serious culture faux unless you want them to be unhappy about you feeding their precious children with instant food.

Want to impress your Asian parents in law?  Check some of the tough cooking recipe in my blog. XD

So, do you like instant noodles or what is your favourite flavours?

FOOD REVIEW ON MY KLUANG COFFEE

Hi foodies,

I am sorry for lack of food reviews or recipes.  Here is a food review on  MyKluang Coffee.
Kluang is famous for coffee and food.
This outlet I went is in Kluang.  It is a corner lot shop next to Aeon Kluang.  You will find most people are here for their drinks and cakes.

MY KLUANG COFFEE
MY KLUANG COFFEE

Bat theme

MY KLUANG COFFEE

Bat theme carved with your table number.

MY KLUANG COFFEE

MY KLUANG COFFEE

Very nice, clean and beautiful interior design.

MY KLUANG COFFEE

Chrysanthemum tea .  The tea tastes great =) . Not too sweet but just just nice and it is really fresh brewed with the perfect temperature.

MY KLUANG COFFEE

Kuey Teow goreng.  There is quite a lot of bean sprouts in this plate.  The kuey teow goreng feels lukewarm which is not a preference since I like my food warm.  The taste is acceptable but nothing really great about it.  There isn't much ingredients in it but for the price of RM5.90 I guess I can't ask much.

MY KLUANG COFFEE

Tomato Spaghetti comes with a lot of sauce so much so that my spaghetti is soak in it.  I wouldn't complain if is not that sourish.  The spaghetti is well cooked and it is not too soft except for the sauce. I wish they could make it less sourish T_T .  Portion is good because it is just right for my big stomach.

MY KLUANG COFFEE

Mee Rebus is average because I keep comparing it with the one in Perak which is the best Mee Rebus I have ever tasted.  This is sweet and I guess it is the usual mee bandung which is supposedly sweet and comes in brown sauce.  The ingredients and portion are great but not the sauce.  I am sorry that this is another rant.

MY KLUANG COFFEE

Classic Fish and Chip
Okay, after so many rants, here is a food that I like.  The wedges are really warm, soft and crispy.  The portion of wedges, the fish and chips are also huge which I think is really cheap for that price that I pay.  It comes with two sauces which is really thoughtful so I can dip into whichever sauce I like.  I will recommend to order the fish and chips, any of their drinks or their cakes which I didn't because I am too full to order dessert.

Their customers service is great.  The waiter serving us repeat the items I orders and serve us once we have seated despite other customers coming in.   The workers wear clean uniform and are quick to our request. Their toilets are really clean and well maintained.

Overall, I think My Kluang needs to improve on some of their dishes because seriously that is going to drawn more customer in.  Other than that, everything is great and I would visit My Kluang again.

Food prices:
Mee Rebus RM4.90
Classic Fish and Chip RM11.90
Fried Kuey Teow RM 5.90
Tomato Spaghetti RM 7.90
Chrysanthemum tea RM1.90

Price include GST and they provide free wifi =)
